Tie-Dyed C7 Z06 Corvette Gets Mixed Reviews at GM Nationals
Most folks probably aren’t used to seeing a Corvette painted like something straight out of a gumball machine, especially not at a prestigious event like the GM Nationals.

Of all of the high-performance sports cars/supercars of the world, Corvette is the only one with wild customization as a big part of its DNA/history.
The fiberglass canvas was just too temping (primarily in the 60's and 70's) so we got every Kustom mod in the book - some very cool, and some - let's just say were questionable.
A lot of Vette fans would prefer to forget about Corvette's wild adolescent teen-age years but I choose to embrace that period, and the cars, as part of what makes the marque unique.
You would never see a Ferrari or a Lambo with that kind of paint job, but IMHO somehow the Vette pulls it off.
Kind of a birthright thing...

It's only a wrap he had put on for the Nationals. I'm sure it will be removed from the car later. Wraps are suseptable to damage like paint. He had the whole car wrapped in a clear bra before. I wonder if it's still underneath and how well it may be seperated when he wants to get rid of the wrap without pulling the clear bra off. At least I hope he does not throw money away like that. Then again he does as his last Challenger Hellcat and a Vette before that was owned for a short period of time. Most likely to make YouTube videos. It would be nice if he made videos where he actually gets his finger nails dirty.

The harder lines of this car are not suited to this style of paint job/wrap. Softer lines would work better.

Mike did help with resonator delete on his hellcat. He also got his hands dirty helping put the lift on his duramax so he's not above getting hands on when he can. Installing a wrap takes a lot of skill and patience. He helped install the Xpel when that was first put on his Z06. He is a genuine nice person and did this crazy wrap for the big car show on July 30th so it will probably be removed after that. For those wo want to check Mikes YouTube channel out and see what he's really like, check out StreetSpeed717 on YouTube. I'm not affiliated nor do I receive anything from Mike for the shout out. Just respect him as a great person.
I agree he does seem to be a nice guy and I have enjoyed his videos. It would have been cool to see what he could have accomplished with his first two C7 Vettes. You know the cool things like a supercharger set up, coil over suspension and things like that. Of course you can put more money than what the car is worth doing things like that also. He dumped the first one because of the automatic transmission problems. The second C7, I'm not sure why other than wanting a Hellcat. I'm sure his current ZO6 is awesome. I wonder if he will do something other than a wrap? Hang on to your car a little longer this time Mike and enjoy it.

I've seen his videos and know what.......? If he's creative enough to make some $s doing things I may not do more power to him!!!! Good for him!!!
I never slam anyones car even if they ask for an opinion. Someone did what they did for a reason and it does not bother me. In this case I like the look. Pretty neat and unique.

Think it's pretty cool. Reminds me of my Dads 67 when he had a multi color paint job when I was a kid. He kept it that color for 20 years! Hell, it was a lot of fun. Not sure I would chose the same wrap for my C7 though, but props to him for taking the risk. Life is to short to play it safe! As long as he likes it. Cheers and Happy 4th!!
Some throwback pics of the C2 in the 80s. That was real paint though!!

There was a reason behind it apparently. But either way his car he can do what he wants with it. If he wants to wrap a picture of fabio drinking a bottle of i cant believe its not butter in a black thong on the hood so be it.
