Pads for the Z07 ceramic brakes [track pads]?
So now that people had some track time what is a good pad for the track? Stick with the stock OEM PAD? Or aftermarket? Z07 carbon ceramic pads. Thanks

Curious to see the answers you get. So far, I've stuck with the stock OEM pads, now purchasing from the sponsoring dealerships here instead of my local dealer who refuses to give me any breaks.

Pagid makes a nice replacement, cheaper than OEM. The pad doesn't have wear sensors, and we have not been able to find them separately. However, if that's no concern, it's a great pad for the OEM ceramic brakes.

This was a response directly form Pagid to my inquiry earlier this year, although I agree with wstaab above with the RSC2/3 to be a bit more aggressive.
"Pagid is also the OE pad manufacturer for both the Ferrari and Corvette ceramic brakes ( and for >90% of all other ceramic applications worldwide). I agree, the S600 compound is suboptimal for the track but a street pad has so many comfort requirements, it is impossible to make a pad which fits 100% both, track and street use.
For the track we make a high performance material called RSC1 which has better wear rate and better performance with somewhat less comfort like noise and dust as the OE stock pad. Rotor wear should be as good or better as with the stock pads. We sell quite a lot of these pads, not only Corvette customers but Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche etc. and I haven’t had a single complaint about rotor wear yet.

part number for Corvette: front pad 8091 RSC1 (MSRP: $712) and rear 4906 RSC1 (MSRP $398). You will find also US dealers on our web site."

I haven't tried anything but the OE pads, so I'll be watching for comments.
However, I really like the OE pads for the last couple years of tracking my ZR1, and for the first track event where I ran my new C7.
Just FYI, here are some pictures of the OE C7 Z06/Z07 pads and the C6 ZR1 pads - new C7 Z06/Z07 pads on the right, old worn C6 ZR1 pads on the left:
You can see on the box and the backing plate that the pad compounds for the OE pads are exactly the same for both cars, but are different for the front and rear:
The front uses Textar T4300
The rear uses Pagid S600
Those pad compound designations are written on the bottom right of the backing plate, and also on the top edge of backing plate.
You can see that they are exactly the same size backing plate for the C7 and C6 Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes, and they also have exactly the same pad compounds. Either set of pads will fit in either car.
The only differences are:
GM and ACDelco part #'s for the pads are:
C7 Z06/Z07
Here are a couple threads with some info about people using other pads:

The rear ZR1 pads have those "beveled" areas of the compound on the sides, hence a smaller area of pad in contact with the rear rotor; the C7 Z07 pads have the pad compound the same thickness over the entire backing plate
The sensors are different, but they do come with a set of new OE pads. The end that plugs into the backing plate is the same, but the connectors on the other end that connect to the wire harness of the car are different. If you didn't wear down the sensor part in the backing plate and get a warning on the instrument panel, just reuse your sensors. If you wore down the sensor in the backing pad and your new pads came with sensors for the other car, there are only 2 wires so that you can easily cut off the bad sensor and splice on a new one.

I Have been using the Carbotech XP8 for my carbon ceramic rotors on the track. I got 5 track days out of a set of pads and on my second pair. So far so good for the rotors. Fingers crossed

Thanks great info. I was thinking the Carbotech XP8 Front and rear at the same time. Price is good. I have 4 days on my stock pads now front pads look thin. A lot of money to spend want to buy right 1st time

The XP8 is very easy on the rotors it is a mild race pad with good wear. Carbotech compounds work well with the CC rotors up to XP12. Running XP8 front and rear is no issue. I had a customer order a set of XP12 front and XP10 rear yesterday for a ZO7. Maybe he will chime in.
