Default Nürburgring Z06 time? 2017 GS sidesteps overheating?

Has there been a 2015-16 Z06 Nürburgring time set?
To avoid overheating in track use should I buy a 2017 Grand Sport or just shift my 2015 Z06 @ 5000 rpm? Does the new GS M7 weigh 3530-3450 = 80 lb less than a Z06 M7?

Yeah, you'd have to be an idiot to have bought a 991 GT3 RS at MSRP... Lol, you don't have a clue dude. Everything you write is utter garbage.

Hi
Are you overheating your M7 at the track? If yes, have you checked the cooling circuit to ensure that there is no bubble there mainly in bottom tank?
If your purpose is just to avoid overheating, I suggest that you wait to see if the 2017 Z06 has solved the issue, and if yes, if that can be retrofited to previous years models.
Keep in mind that the GS is really less powerful compare to the Z06 so if you are a track guy you might be disappointed.

I expect it to be no lower than 4th or 5th on this list, but look for ZR1...

Can it break 7:20?
Would the A10 have helped?

Sorry if that was misleading, but it's only my guess for what it should be (I should have bolded the word EXPECT in my previous post). Until a time appears on the top 100 list, we won't know what the Z06 (or possibly ZR1) is capable of, or even if the Vette team will try again.

Amazing how some here have the mind set that believes the "ring" to be the only track in the world.

You poor thing. There are many tracks, everyone knows that. Im sure you have been told the "ring" is the benchmark track for testing and seeing how the car measures up to other cars.

GM claims they have the overheating fixed with the new model. Maybe you should hold off and see if it is in fact fixed.

For all intents and purposes.....it is. And note how it is so, without being in our backyard, so to speak. The length and setting of the circuit should be enough to impress any driver, even before taking in too account the difficulty of it. They don't call it the "green hell" for nothing.

Go there and walk around a bit and you get a sense of the automotive history involved. And in Germany, it seems everyone is a race fan.....

No Nurnburgring is not the only track in the world.... plenty of others.....but IT IS the "benchmark" track of the world.

I could care less and neither does 99.99% of the rest of the world.

I have driven dozens of laps around the nordschliefe at the nurburgring, in many different cars. Very challenging.

On my son's Forza racing game, that is....

Yes we know you don't care or so you say.

However a lot of the world does care. It is a benchmark test and they are giving the impression it does not measure up by their silence. At least they could be honest about it.

Funny how he does not care but cant wait to jump in and add his .02 cents. Maybe he thinks the Ring time or "lack of Ring time" is whats holding back the sale of his car.

Maybe he's just a cars and coffee guy who spends most of his time waxing his car. GM knows that the majority of Z06 owners don't track their cars or expect much out of them. They just want to be seen driving them. For them maybe the ring time is irrelevant. Until somebody says something about it. Then it gets under their skin. The Z06 was hyped from the beginning. It may still be a nice car but it does not live up to the expectations of that hype. That is not a good problem to have.

Exactly. The world according to mustang- "If I say I don't care, nobody else cares." It must be nice when you can create your own reality.

This might be the case, but my take on the silence is that they fixed the Z06 cooling problem & moved on. They're getting ready to do a Ring time in a C7 ZR1, & want to announce a world beating time at the same time the ZR is introduced. I can understand Tadge being reluctant to get embarrassed twice. He also can't give everything away ahead of time.

I can't see them bringing out a ZR1 but they have followed the play book for the C6 so far every step of the way. So you may be on to something.
