August 20-25 - Bowling Green (2017 Grand Sport Buyer's Tour)
August 26-28 - Corvettes at Carlisle
August 31-September 4 - Bowling Green (Anniversary Celebration)

I fully anticipate that during this time frame we will all learn a great deal about the 2017 Z06. I will post that information real time if possible.

That said, there may be other questions that some may have. Feel free to post your questions here and I will do my best to secure answers to as many reasonable questions as possible.

Jeremy, thanks for doing this.

I have a couple:

1. Is the A8 fixed? I.e. torque converter and/or stator issues (and any other issues) in fact resolved (cuz it sure seems like issues keep cropping up with the A8)?

2. When do we learn all the details on the improvements to the '17 Z06?

3. Any plans for stronger - perhaps forged - wheels?

4. When can I have a Zora/ME. . . . .

It would help a great deal if it could be confirmed whether a ZR1 with a big wing & power upgrade is coming down the pipe. If not, what cooling upgrades were done to the Z06?

Have the alignment specs been changed? Can a printout of the cars alignment setting be made available to the buyer? Can the rear caster setting be done more accurately? +/- 0.8 degrees tolerace seems excessive?

No offense but...

If Jeremy expects to continue having contacts within the GM engineering teams, he'll know better than to ask questions like that. Asking something like will likely be answered with a shut door that won't open again. So, I don't know if you were kidding or not, but if you weren't kidding, you should try to consider the delicate position he's in.

I know it well as I'm in the same one. I'd never dare ask my friends at GM to tell me about future product because they'd be put on the spot: tell my friend something and keep him happy while risk losing my job, or tell him nothing, keep my job, but risk upsetting my friend. It's a crappy place to put someone.

Thanks for the post. And you are correct that I know what questions to ask, which ones to not ask, and which ones to ask in a more appropriate manner. As with you, these men and women are my friends, and I treat them as friends first and foremost.

With all due respect, he will not be able to ask any of the questions this forum has. The offer is very appreciated, but ultimately a waste of time. We all appreciate that some have been trying to get information to the forum but in all honesty we have received nothing.

Everyone will just have to wait until GM makes their announcement. The silence on the 2017 Z06 is deafening

Even within the walls of GM there is "need-to-know" on new product development, and no one outside of GM has access to any info that relates to product development, unless they have very limited info, such as suppliers that are working on components to be used in future products for GM. Even then, they have very limited info and they are required to sign non disclosure statements.

Take any "insider" info with a huge grain of salt.

I've provided helpful answers and information in the past and will continue to do so as I have opportunity. Some recent examples of information I provided before GM provided the information to media outlets include:

- Information to confirm that the "Engine: Mexico" designation on some 2017 Corvette window stickers was indeed a printing error.
- The reason 2017 M7 Z51 and Grand Sports had been on constraint.
- New cooling improvements on the M7 Z51 and Grand Sport (still has not been published by media outlets).
- A8 and M7 cooling improvements for the 2017 Z06 several weeks before media outlets provided the information.

Info on the new 450,000 square-foot paint shop being constructed at Bowling Green. Scheduled on line date. Will GM offer paint to sample or custom colors in the future Corvette models similar the the Dodge Viper custom paint program?

No doubt, we do appreciate that you keep us informed. Example, helping GM collecting feedback from C7 A8 owners for transmission issues and proposed cooling improvements. Also, the live updates from the bash and updates coming to 2017 Z06. I know it might not be detailed information but at least we know something is coming.

Thanks for the efforts.

I was able to provide some answers to these questions several months ago, but will get an update. Currently, the plan is to start painting panels in the new shop at the beginning of the 2018 model year with only the new for 2018 colors being painted in the new shop initially with a transition of all colors from the old shop to the new show through the model year. GM has no plans to offer custom colors at this time.

Did GM conduct a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to help them understand air flow through the radiator in both the upper duct and fan paths?

Sorry, I'm a relative newbie here, & I don't even know what relationship any forum members have with the Vette team. Please disregard this question, & any others you think are inappropriate.

The buck stops at the chief engineers desk. It always has.

Looks like they have throughout the development of C7, but their design threshold was 86*F ambient temperature and based on owner feedback of current models they have increased to 100*F ambient temperature for track work for the 2017 models. Based on testing after market companies have done, airflow seems to be a bigger issue than radiator capability this time around.

Hi JJ,

Had dinner with you at the CForum dinner at the Montana Grill back in 2015. I would like to know if we will be able to buy a Z07 option Z06 with iron brakes instead of CCB's. I track my cars all the time and the CCB's are just too expensive for my budget.

Also, on the overheating issue, I have put together a kit list of pieces parts for C7's. Works super on Z51's and helps Z06's.

Tkx

BTW, we are all waiting for the 2017 Z06 tech specs. A GM Corvette Engineer took about 50 pictures of my air, oil, and water update cooling mods in my garage at IMS during the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show back on the last Friday in June. He told me the tech specs would be released the 3rd week in July and now 8-18-2016 has passed and still no information. I wonder if they are going to use any of my mods. He checked with HQ and they had not tried these mods ever.
