Default C7/Z06 Blackstone oil report

This report compares Mobil 1 5w/30 using an AC/Delco PF64 oil filter to Quaker State Ultimate Durability (Full Synthetic) 5w/30 using the Purolator "Boss" PBL12222 synthetic media oil filter with FilterMag magnets on the outside of the filter. Both oils were ran for 3,000 miles. Highlighted elements area are wear metals that have different readings.

See the thread below for more info/history.

I wouldn't put too much into this report with how little miles are on the engine. I've been doing oil analysis reports on my track cars for the last few years. Some of those values could easily be attributed to the engine still breaking in.

However, what you should be doing is consistently doing oil analysis reports that way you can look at a trend in the mineral break downs. You should see various materials stabilize or even reduce in number as the engine is broken in.

Default Hopeing for some comparison feed back.

Anyone have a Blackstone oil report to post up for comparison? That would be interesting for the forum. I can't be the only one that has had their C7/Z06 oil tested.

Look we have here Mobil 1 and another brand of oil to compare readings to, along with the mileage to take into consideration.

Can you back up a little let us know how much it costs, what you use to send oil in (is there a kit you order first) and so on? I might do that to see how my engine is doing periodically, but don't know how.

Here is one I posted before. I actually have another sample from earlier in the year that I've been meaning to ship off to them. I can't remember exactly how many miles were on it now though.

Just google Blackstone Labs or Blackstone oil analysis. You can request free sample kits. They send you everything you need except for prepaid postage. You put a few ounces of oil into their sample container, package it according to their directions, include a check or CC info for $28, and send it off to them. Usually takes a week or so and they e-mail your report to you. They say it will take longer but usually it is pretty fast.

There are other companies that offer it cheaper but I have no experience with them.

Due to the averages it looks like yours was the first C7/Z06 Blackstone tested. Is the 17 in the "Mi/Hr on oil" miles or hours as Blackstone has it?

Default Took a second look at my results and ......

The additive package varies with oils so that will be different but what I did notice is it looks like the "wear" metals & additives in the element section were averaged between my two oil samples and if one sample's wear number was 0 and the other 1 Blackstone rounded it up to the 1 in the Unit/Location averages.

So than for a wider scope you would have to look at the "universal averages".

Oh, and Poor-sha your "unit/location averages" are that way because it's your first sample. I think so because I just checked my first (Mobil 1) oil sample report for the Z06.
