2017 Z06 Spotted in the Wild! Pics Inside!
Tonight while in Bowling Green, "elegant" and I spotted a Z06 that proved to be a 2017 Z06 confirmed by the VIN. The photos verify this. The photos also verify that there are absolutely NO new exterior modifications to the hood or front fascia. All cooling improvements are subsequently internal of which the specifics will be revealed at a later date. I do not know when this will take place, but I am working toward providing that information from Corvettes at Carlisle this weekend if possible. Stay tuned!

I just want to say thanks again to Jeremy and John. It's clear that some folks here are upset at the limited information, or the nature of the information, that they are providing. They've made it clear before that they have cultivated relationships with some of the GM folks and that puts them in a unique position to have access to information they might not otherwise have. J&J are kind enough to share that information with us. They aren't being paid to work for GM and are doing all of this out of their love for the Corvette and their sense of community with us enthusiasts.
The quickest way to stop the flow of information is to be ungrateful and accusatory. Whatever your feelings are (positive or negative) for the 2017 (or 15/16) Z06, Jeremy and John are just providing information. I guarantee that without them, we'd have far less information. They are helping us all make more informed purchasing decisions for these very expensive vehicles. You know what they say: don't shoot the messenger. Just appreciate whatever slice of information they are able to share.

Nice Spot!!
Expected that their would have been a small change to the front end but I guess not
Look forward to hearing about the internal changes though!

Always fun to make a chance "find," especially as Jag and I had as one of our BG trip hopes, was to confirm for ourselves whether the 2017 would be externallyvisually different. Definitive confirmation achieved. Happy to share.
Been a fun trip so far with last night our scoping out and Jag sharing his exterior pictures of the paint building status. For those who have not seen his pics from our last night's escapade...
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...st-2016-a.html
While all pics were taken from public place, it was "interesting" when, sequentially, two white pick up trucks started to come our way. For whatever reason, both started to come our way, then chose to ignore us (and that reason could simply have been that they were construction company trucks not Plant security personnel (LOL).
Amazing how that building dwarfs the cars in front of it. As we joked last night, the new building is big enough to also house all of GM's pick up production too.

Nicework ! I am expecting the new blower lid to improve the drivability
and under the curve power from the Lt4. But not peak power.
Nice the no hood change I will order the blower lid real soon.
Nice color choice for the 2017 rare color sorta!

Confirming what "jvp" posted a while back, there there are no 2017 horsepower nor torque upgrades.
Have found over time, that jvp often has accurate info way before most of us.

Thanks for sharing guys.
Have you had the chance to speak with the driver or look under the hood? I assume if this is in fact 2017 Z06 then its preproduction test car. I don't see why Corvette team would let a 2017 Z06 with updated hood or bumper out around town when they are so secretive about the updates. It would make sense to test some of the 2017 internal updates discreetly under 2016 body which this could be the case. They could have easily confirmed at the bash (or after) that the 2017 will have just some cooling updates for the track guys but the exterior will stay 100% the same which would have helped 2016 Z06 sales but they didn't. Instead they are giving massive incentives for dealers to move 2016 Z06's off the lots. Staying quiet affected 2016 Z06 sales and value for the short term. Not to mention halting Z06 production for several months which was another indication of significant changes. TIKT, G Speed and LG all confirmed the need for dual intercoolers with larger bumper opening or add dual new openings to the bumper to aid with supercharger cooling. There isn't much that can be done with the current setup. I also don't see how GM would allow the ZL1 which is running the same LT4 to have a hood with better hot air extraction than Z06 or letting the ZL1 and Z28 have more efficient wings than Z06 spoiler.
I just see mixed messages so who knows. Keep the updates coming and thanks again.

if this is true better buy those leftover 2016s at 17k off because nobody will know the difference except the people that pay a lot more money for a 2017.makes my 2016 look even better now.

Except for the improved engine cooling.

Exactly my thinking. And its not so much that no one will know the difference. IMHO this is a "to be decided later" type situation with regard to the cooling improvements. In other words, after enough cars are in owners hands and tracked. Just like last time.
For those who are not concerned with tracking, carry on, not an issue. But the logical choice for those who do, would be an LG Motorsports upgrade.

Jag, I'm very disappointed one of you didn't distract the driver while the other opened the hood. Come on now.

Totally agree, & I'm not surprised. Unless Tadge is playing with our heads, & someone working at the plant "forgot" which car he was in. The VIN may be a true 2017 number, but the body could easily just be "camo" from a 2016. There's enough stuff "leaked" already, & at Carlisle, what Tadge DOESN'T tell us may be bigger than what he does, unless he spills all the beans outright regarding a Zxx. Unless the Z28 is closer to production than the Zxx, which was already seen in camo with a big rear wing, the lack of intel from the 'Ring for a Zxx with a big wing suggests that is so. This could be a looong winter.
Something they mentioned over on SRF that I didn't see here is that they (John and Jeremy) don't expect Z06 production to begin until the week of September 26th:
http://www.stingrayforums.com/forum/...tted-more.html
Edit: I should add that the lack of exterior changes is in no way disappointing to me; frankly I would have been upset if the new Z had that gigantic spoiler. I waited for the 2017 Z because I wanted the cooling changes *under* the hood. Now I just want my new Z ASAP!

I think you guys are missing the subtext here. John and Jeremy are not only very knowledgeable but also have many connections. I have a feeling they had a hint or two about where to happen upon a 2017 Z06 out and about in Bowling Green. And they can spot extremely minor differences in the construction of these models - far better than most of us. If they say they carefully reviewed the exterior and there were no changes, there were no changes, and we will see no changes in the production models. That's it.

I was a bit bummed out when I bought my C6Z in '08 & the ZR1 came out a year later. I will not allow history to repeat itself.

Another example of pretending to be an 'insider'.
I don't claim to be an "insider" and I don't pretend to have "secret" info that I can't share, but I'll tell everyone what the "secret" info is after GM makes it public. LOL
Thanks for the photos, but if you had "inside" info, why didn't you post a photo of a 2017 Z06 before one was found parked in a public area.

Are you just a pawn in Tadge's mind games? As a medium for his "leaks"?..... It's OK, I understand if you can't answer that.....
