This is what Harlan told me via email. But I will try to provide a photo for visual confirmation today.

Perhaps the quilted headliner is where they are going to put the secondary radiator in the A8's.......

The GS here with red stitching does not have red stitching in the head liner. I'll ask Harlan about this since his email a couple of weeks ago indicated it would have red stitching.

Perhaps someone could put up a thread describing in detail exactly what changes are on the 2017 Z06. This thread is getting tedious with its don't hold your breath until its public disclosure of facts.

New supercharger with revised brick angles and taller lid to prevent derating due to high rear cylinder IAT. New inner hood liner to allow lid to fit.

Manuals to have secondary radiator standard. Autos with apparent ongoing work but completely unknown so far.

Track tune for higher octane to be available

Devising program for a parts swap for 2015-16 owners

Something else not yet mentioned to keep the speculation and anticipation alive.

What about a picture of the new orientation of the 2017 z06 supercharger internal cooling bricks?
Is the yellow C7R shirt Tadge was wearing in the video available for purchase?

Newer forum poster here but long time forum visitor. I spent a majority of my time at Carlisle in the engineering tent( wife was thrilled) in an attempt to get the info I needed to make the decision whether or not to buy a 16 z06 leftover or wait for a 17. I am planning on purchasing an m7. Spoke to Peter Ho regarding the cooling issue as he told me he was on the team that was responsible for that. I got the strong impression that if ordering an M7 I would be good to go but if ordering an A8 it is still considered to be a work in progress as previously mentioned in this thread. He commented that most of the work that has been done was to cool down the rear cylinders that were causing the car to go into limp mode. Since I don't plan to track the car much, I also talked to many of the engineers there about other changes that you would notice on daily driving. I spoke to Phil( can't) remember his last name several times as many of the other engineers referred to him as the authority of model year production changes. He commented like most years, GM has analyzed warranty claims, JD power ratings and other reviews to target problem areas/ complaints on the 2016 car. He mentioned that besides the improved supercharger, extra cooling, standard rocker side skirts, there will be numerous tweeks and changes that 2017 owners will notice and appreciate. He mentioned a faster electronic interface for the touch screen and mode select delay, a new tune/ programming for the mag ride that will make the touring mode noticeably softer and a larger delta between touring and sport unlike the 2016s, easier closing doors, better camera for the rear( although he said he thought they had taken care of that during the production year of the 16's. When asked the question regarding a 16 vs. 17 he just smiled and said he would wait for a 17 as I would be much happier. He seemed to be a real nice guy and sincere. For me, since I am going after an M7, I still plan to wait to see what this months incentives bring before making a final decision. Hope this helps others in the same situation.

I would hope so especially if I go after a 16! My A8 16 had a very small delta between the 2 if any. He said this was a complaint they addressed so I don't see why they couldn't update the 15/16s but who knows. It was odd as many of the other engineers were unaware of that change and referred me to Phil who seemed to have ALL the goods!

Thanks for the great intel. It's nice to have folks on the ground there that are talking with the engineers and getting the real answers. It does seem that despite no "official" announcement, the Tadge video from yesterday and the general openness of the discussion with GM employees is the next best thing.

I'm happy that GM is keeping past customers in mind with the potential parts exchange program. That makes me feel even better about buying a 2017, since I assume that if there are major upgrades in the future there is a good chance I could have access to those.

However, with things like the changed tune to the mag ride, I wouldn't wouldn't expect GM to necessarily offer that to previous years. Things like that are small changes to improve the car year over year and it seems like it would be a royal PITA for GM to do that. Now the mag ride may be as easy as a software update, but if not, I'm not sure how likely it is that 15/16 owners will get that.

I suppose a good question now is "Should a 2015/2016 Z06 M7 owner install a secondary radiator (if they can locate one) before further GM announcements regarding how 15/16 owners will be handled?"

Yes, I would think so also as it is a simple programming update to the same hardware.

Will have it done when available.

Thanks for asking Harlan. I'm hoping it's like the cars at Bash, where the ones on display were pre-production and some of the interior features/combos were slightly off. Like sueded comp seats without the suede shifter and steering wheel (which GM should offer, since I'm not a fan of the suede wheel/shifter but like the seats).

It would definitely be weird if I paid for red stitching throughout and pretty much all the visible stitching was red, except a huge grid of stitching right about your head was not red. And since it's suede, you can't use the dye marker trick

So unappreciative of the efforts people are making to convey improvements to the '17.

Meanwhile, for months you told people on this forum that GM was going to put a DCT in the '17 because you had inside information and you couldn't disclose the source.
