Thanks, Tony. You did a great job documenting what Tadge said. You're right, if you didn't get a video you would have been met with all kinds of "pics or it didn't happen" responses. And no one expects you to bring pro audio video equipment, so ignore that guy.
All in all, this is a great development. It's nice to hear Tadge say that GM is trying to do everything they can do help 15/16 owners - I definitely did not expect that. I didn't catch everything he said early in the video but the audio got significantly better toward the end.
Anyone care to summarize Tadge's statements so not everyone has to watch the full video? And hopefully we can get a bulleted list of detailed items that have changed now that things seem to be much more public.
Thanks again, Tony!

I have taken many videos at Carlisle over the years and have carried my professional equipment to make them. While I was making videos you were probably sitting in your lawn chair talking about nothing. Be careful who you criticize before you know their background. Where are your videos?
Great job OP, don't let tired, old, angry men get you down. They walk amongst us.
Hearing aids will help too.

I'm glad you jones over video recording equipment quality, but many of us don't and are focused more on the content shared. That is when we're not sitting in our lawn chairs doing nothing...

So here's a bit of the back story:
The guy with the backpack and neon shirt is a buddy of mine. He has a C5 and is a total car nut, he is no way a douche, in fact he's one of the most down to earth people you'll ever meet.
That being said here's how this happened:
He posted on fb that he was going to Carlisle and I jokingly asked him "if you hear anything about cooling changes on the Z06 or A8 can you let me know?"
So he totally went out of his way to find Tadge and ask him the questions that resulted in what you all saw in the video. (I wasn't there, so I can't say he was the one who started the conversation, but I'm thankful he made the effort)
You can all thank him for asking the questions so that you now have some new info.
And thanks to the OP for taking the video, great job!
No one cares about your crap. You must be a real laugh at parties.

what he says and the pennypinchers in the front office do are 2 different things.the pennypinchers have last say,so don't hold your breath on a retrofit for 15s and 16s.

Thanks for the video...good job!
Here's what I expect...if you have documented issues, you might qualify for the upgrade. If you don't, I wouldn't expect it (unless you want to pay for it).

I believe they won't screw over the past Z owners with this fix since many will make make up future C8 and beyond owners. UNLESS, they give us a reason to leave. Many of us have had prior vettes and moved up the line. My first vette was a C6 and I loved it. If GM does not take care of their own who will? It would be a huge error to hurt the core clients in this case. It's simply an investment they need to make in their future success!
Thanks for the great vid
Hope I'm right!

I just wanted to hear what 15 and 16 owners were getting out of it. And if that lid height change was EXACTLY what gm is saying was root cause of issue on track. And I'm pretty sure he answered both of those things as well as the extra cowl piece and high octane calibrations coming out.
AND your friend was comical just the way it came out of him and admitting he didn't know wth he was talking about lol.

^^^^^realistic assessment^^^^^^^
And on further review, I hear a bit of wiggle room as far as vadges response. Basically he seems to be saying, only those with problems will get a retrofit.

It is all conjecture at this point but the way I interpreted it is we will pay for all labor and the parts will be given to us at a discount in return for the old parts. Please keep in mind that a GM discount is not a cheap thing lol, anybody that has bought a part at your local dealership and then bought a part from a dealer on our forum knows what I am talk about.

Good point. CF vendors are usually 15% or greater savings than GM. Had not thought of that angle. Dilemma: buy a 15 or 16 and retrofit, get a new 16, or wait for the ZR1.
I'm having to ask for rides at the track to get my fix until then.
