What you get: (4) GS Creations Tail light blackout covers

Material: 1/8'' thick molded Acrylic. (This is not a vinyl or cheap sticker overlays; it’s the real deal hard molded Acrylic blackout kit!!)

Installation: Each cover is securely attached using heavy duty CLEAR 3mŽ double-sided tape. This means you won't see any tape outline when the parking/brake lights are on.

What's the general population consensus on these? Can someone post how these would look like on a Black car? Any trouble from the LEO with these on? Tia

We've had n negative feedback. Normally we only hear negatives and not positives.

Aren't these going to significantly dim the brightness of the brake/tail lights? The legal aspect is a bit of a concern but not as much as diminished visibility?

True that, however, that's a minor concern for me. Bigger concern is someone running into me on a rainy, dark, foggy night. I like the look but unsure how it's physically possible to have OEM level of visibility?

We have these on our shop C7 and I will tell you this in all honesty. I could not believe how little these covers affected the light output! I was following out car out of the parking lot and was totally surprised! These covers are thin so the light goes through quite easily. If someone hits you in the rear It was not because of these blackouts! I will try to get a picture tomorrow.

If you're going to the trouble of getting a qualitative pic it won't prove beneficial unless a stock car is next to the one with covers. Any chance you have a stock car with the OEM lights to use in a side-by-side comparison in a dark place?

A more quantitative and useful option would be to measure the lumens of an OEM car and one with covers in the same location/ambient lighting. Not sure if you have a meter?

If not, there is an iPhone light meter app available for $2.

Thx.

Rick
