Default 2017 Z06 starting price predictions

So with left over 2016 Z06s being offered up with discounts up to 20% off MSRP, where do you think the 2017s will start in the market?

I know we will follow typical new model year pricing cycles, however with the limited changes, the introduction of the Grand Sport, and rumors of a 2018 ZR1 or a Z06X track model, I think the 2017 Z06 will have some unique price pressures. Especially since there will be a small production window effectively starting in October and running three months before the Detroit auto show where any 2018 ZR1/Z06X will probably be announced.

I know we're speculating at this point, but I'm curious what other potential buyers think will be the starting price or discount target.

The '17 car will enjoy a new "Vette Tax".........I predict a $5K price hike from GM. They have already raised the current price again this year.

The $5K price increase on a $90K car represents around 4.5%. So the market may correct the price increase with increased discounts based on demand. It all depends on how long the dealers are willing to sit on the inventory.

IMO, 2017 will be a unique model year for the Z06 compared to other years. Buyers will remember the 2016 summer fire sale and with no external cosmetic changes for the 2017 and only slight engineering changes to address the cooling concerns, I don't expect pricing to significantly increase. I don't expect 20% discounts, however I do think we can target 10%-12% through YE 2016 and perhaps even 15% after 2018 announcements are made. I think any 2018 ZR1 or Z06X track edition, will provide more price pressures than the 2016 Grand Sport on the Z06 buying demographic.

Based on my build target, I will probably need to order my 2017 and since I want to buy and don't need to buy, I want to target the best time. Probably looking at the window between Christmas and New Years.

Not really. Yours is now compared with all the other 2016s that sold with huge discounts. Hopefully you got one that was discounted because used prices will start under that price point and drop from there.

The MSRP for the 2017 Z is only $50 more than last year. Actual selling price is all over the map, but I am pretty sure you can get one for significantly below MSRP with one of the large forum dealers. The only question is how available allocations will be. I originally placed my order with a local top 10 Corvette dealer expecting to have no issue with allocation. After my dealer getting zero allocation for the first several cycles I switched to Mike Furman at Criswell and the process has flown along since.

I built a 2017 Z through the GM Supplier site, same price as 2016 (aside from the $50)
Option prices were the same as well.

also priced out a build through a dealer, same price as 2016 and 10% off.
I would venture to say, 2017 prices will be similar to 2016 peaks and valleys (8% to 12% standing) with 15%++ towards the end of the model year

I don't know how he does it but Mike certainly knows his way around the Corvette allocation game...volume and experience are probably his not-so-secret weapons.......
