Stock 2016 A8 1/4 Mile Passes
My friend Bob's car is a 2016 A8 on Nitto NT05R 345-30-19 DRs. The car had 930 miles on it and the motor is factory stock right down to the air filter.
Right lane.
Right lane.

with the 10.99 over all gearing in low vs the 7.87 in the M7
This is how the A8 is quicker 1/4 mile than the M7 with less power. The faster 60 ft Which also increased the trap speed as well

The DA was about 1400 above when I made that run today. Which I had purchased your C5 you had for sale Alan. Great build and a super fast C5.

Outstanding congrats on all areas, 60 ft, et, trap speed (and killer color that you hardly ever see, LOVE it!
I have the same goal for my 2016 Z with its A8 trans and running your exact same Nitto drag radials, are you running Nor Cal SS 18 inch knock off rims?
What mode did you run in for your 10.70 run?
Did you do your burnout keeping the car in drive in the same mode that you did your 1/4 blast in or did you do your burnout in manual mode (first gear).
Congrats again and thanks in advance for answering my questions.

All runs were made with the traction control off, in sport mode. Did all burnouts in drive. Next time out I will try the tour mode. It may give me a little better weight transfer and a better sixty foot. Also I plan on doing the burnout in second gear and not as big a burnout. All runs were made on pump 93 and a full tank of gas.

That's hauling the mail. I sold my vert and am holding out a year to get a 17 coupe when prices come down so I can track it.

Jim, I bought black repro C7 Z06 wheels from Bob at House of Wheels. Sizes are 18 x 10 fronts with Nitto 555 Extreme ZR 275-35-18 tires. Rear wheels are 19 x 12 with Nitto NT05R drag radials 345-30-19.
All runs were made with the traction control off, in sport mode. Did all burnouts in drive. Next time out I will try the tour mode. I wish you great continued success with that bad azz Atomic Oranage (if its still called that color) Z of yours!

Nice pass it looks like the car has the power to run with the best of them.
What tire pressure was the car running in the rear tires on that pass?
I just reviewed the video and it looks like the tires "outside edges" are digging into the track rubber deeper as it's coming out of the burn-out "BUT" that could also be due to just the complete weight/down force of the rear tires pushing down on the soft track rubber.
I usually run the highest pressure I can without spinning. It may help the stability.

Like the other gentleman above also asked how much air pressure did you run in the Nitto Drag Radials on your best runs and was that air pressure (cold or warm air pressure)?
Thanks in advance.

Last 2 question for now I promise
When you said you ran in Sport Mode with TC off that is regular sport mode and not the Sport 1 mode or Sport 2 mode, that you can only access by getting first into track mode, right?
Also, did you try any runs in track mode in either sport 1, sport 2 or full race mode ( the latter of those 2 options the active handling and stability traction are both turned of by the ecu when in that mode)?
