Reduced engine power warning on highway!!
I have a Callaway SC757. I was driving alone on a lonely stretch of highway (somewhere in Mexico) and I did a pull from middle of 2nd to top of 3rd. Coolant and Oil temps were below 200 at start and just over 200 at the conclusion. When I hit top of 3rd, it felt like someone literally turned off the engine. I let off totally and shifted easy to 6th. When I started the pull, I was in Tr with the submode in Sport 1. When I looked down after the pull, it was in T instead of Tr, the Rev Match turned itself off and the message in the middle of the tach said 'Reduced Engine Power' and (I think) it said speed limited to 67mph. I had nearly zero power and then (I think) it said speed limited to 55mph. I thought I blew the motor but no smoke or bad noises and temps and oil pressure looked really normal. I limped to a gas station and shut it off. I opened the hood and everything looked fine. I restarted the car but it was still stuck in that "Reduced Engine Power". I shut down and I waited about an hour and then restarted and it was totally back to normal. Did I overheat the cats? If not, what else could it be? What does everyone think happened and what caused it? BTW, except for the pull itself, I was driving really easy (not beating on it).

I don't post very often but I read almost everything that everyone else posts and I don't recall anyone else with a Z06 complaining about this. I am wondering if this is an issue in the Callaway tune or if others without the Callaway package have experienced this situation.
I guess I am wondering what parameters can trigger a car to go in to "Reduced Engine Power" mode normally. I know that water temp and oil temp can do it but what else would normally trigger it (ie: what else is the car designed to protect itself from via massive power reduction)?

OP, I haven't had any issues like what you're describing on my Callaway Z, and I've hammered my car a good bit, including running it in the Texas Mile. In fact, I haven't had any problems at all with it.
Mine is an M7, fwiw.

May not be an engine tune issue. Could be a ride control issue. If something is flaky in the ride control subsystem sometimes a car is put into speed limited mode. Both the C5 and C6 limited speeds when the ride control system had an issue and the C7 may have the same setup.

OP, never had this issue with mine. Mojave Magnum, NORC, and 2 sessions at Willow Springs, not mention how I might drive every now and then (haha). I agree with Bill in that your issue may not be in the engine bay. I would get the car to the dealer and see if there is any history that can be pulled to help trouble shoot. And I would follow Chris's instructions for sure

Bill makes a good point about the ride control system. A good friend had power issues like that in his C6Z due to the control system and not due to engine/tune issues. It might be an avenue worth looking into.

Mine reared its head shortly after the break-in miles were completed. Car has done it in every driving mode (Eco, wet, touring, sport, track) and when cold, warm and hot. I've recreated it on video slowly climbing through second gear, no wheel spin, no stability issues and it triggers 'reduced engine power' mode at exactly 6,000 rpms and I do mean EXACTLY.
The C/E light is solid indicating that it's not something the ECM identifies as life-threatening to the engine. If your C/E light continuously blinks that's a very bad signal and you must go to the dealer immediately, this is not that. The C/E light will clear after 3 key cycles without an event and the ECM adopts a rich tune. The car feels a little sluggish (if that's possible) after the event and definitely runs fat as indicated by the sooty exhaust immediately following a reset.
My car is currently back at Callaway so they can data-log and diagnose. Definitely a head scratcher and all OnStar could tell me was the ECM was not happy with what the car had done and triggered the C/E light.

OP and CVP -
Good luck on this - but you're in good hands. They'll get it rooted out, resolved and you'll be on your way. Nice that you have that warranty coverage, it's for times like this.

All solved. Loose throttle body connection throwing code(s) during high load events, i.e. near peak rpm and peak throttle input. Glad it was simple and glad the TEAM at Callaway was able to diagnose and solve. Really appreciate How they handled this from start to finish and also how they took time to explain exactly what was happening and why.

Redeuced Engine Power 2017 Callaway 757
WOW, I'm glad I just read this. I just had this same very thing happen to my 2017 Z06 Calaway 757. Driving on the freeway to Downtown Houston, barely jumped on it to change lanes, and the ugly sound and noise of the reduced power came on. 4300 miles on it, pampered and kept right. Just now taking it to the dealer.
