Default Found some non run-flats

Continental extreme contact DW are made
in our sizes. They are non run flats with Y rated
sise walls. So I can run them at Mojave. The price is great $1020 a set. My tire guy can get them for that price. I can't see a downside for these.

I think traction maybe be an issue compared to the stock tires.
These are not known for there grip.

The Nitto Invos in 285/30/19 and 345/25/20 also are inexpensive and work in non RF. But they like the Contis are simply not as good a tire as the non RF MPSS or the MPSS ZP.

I run the Contis. Very quiet tire but about 8/10ths the grip as the MPSS. They communicate their limits well and break grip smoothly. Again, those limits are lower than the Michelins.

I hear that Continental is bringing out a new tire in February that is supposed to have more grip and is better in wet conditions than their current tire.

Problem with the nittos is the fronts are not Y rated. There 98W which is up to 160 mph.
No good to go 200. Actually I'm only looking at the contis for the street. I don't like run flats and Michelins don't make our sizes.

If you plan on 200 MPH then you need (Y) rated tires, not Y rated tires that are good up to 186 MPH.

W rated tires are good for up to 168 MPH.

Michelin MPSSs are available in 325/25/20 and either 275/30/19 or 295/30/19 with the latter being the closest in size to the MPSS ZP 285/30/19s. So they very much make them in sizes for the C7 Wide Body.

I find the Contis to be an excellent street tire. And I also don't like run flats.

For what the contis give up in grip, which is really non existant on the street they more then make up in comfort and ride of a non run flat vrs a run flat and then there is the 50% price difference.

They make MPSS non run flat for about 1500 a set. Id rather shell out an extra 500$ to ensure I dont fishtail and wreck my car when doing a spirited run.

I only do spirited runs on the track with race tires so don't know about street adventures. I'd suggest your risks of spirited runs on public roads is much more riskier then my non run flats. Tire Racks price for 4 corners on a Z is $2100. If you find them cheaper let me know.

just had this discussion today. My friend and i are contemplating making the switch as we both HATE the non RF tires as well..

made the switch to Conti DW on my 08 F55 Coupe and the transformation was pronounced. that 08 drove like a cadillac on rough pavement. was amazing.

anyone want my stock 200mi tires pm me. i'm getting these.

Contis are a great tire I've tracked them where they perform poor and over 19k street miles which they preform great at. These tires have better grip on the street at street temps than MPSS. I know I have both and switch a lot. The MPSS are a track tire for the street the Contis are the opposite!

Non run flats, just keep a tire plug tool and a pump and repair kit in the car.

I had a C6 and had two flat tires. One was on a remote stretch of 101 south of Santa Maria in Calif. It was a relief to be able to drive the car 40 miles to a tire shop and they plugged the tire. So I'm a bit gun shy when it comes to non runflats. The other flat was in my home city so it was not a big deal.

I too was looking for non RF. Ended up with RF MPSS. Called Michelin a week later and they said they will have the non RF MPSS available in November. Hope it is not too late, Give them a call to double check.

No reputable tire shop would patch a RF that had been driven on for 40 miles.

I know many people that carry a plug kit and small compressor. This what I will be doing.

Everyone is fire-sale-ing these Conti's knowing that a better tire is coming. If you don't need every 'g' in the corner then they are definitely worth a look. I never understood why people would pay so much for Michelin Pilot Supersports.......until I owned my first set.
