I didn't even know they had the P100D out yet. What are they, $140-$150k? I have to say 10.79 is damn impressive, esp at only 122mph!! Goes to show how important the launch is! The 11.20 from the A8 Z was a fairly lackluster run...The difference is, any old fool can jump in a Tesla and run 11's. EV + 4wd.

Thanks for the vid!

Decent run for the Z and it still lost.

I'm definitely going electric after the Z. Hopefully it still has crossed flags.

Thanks for posting!

Best,
Gene

Simply because of a drag time? I'd love to have a Tesla AND a Z. But if I only have one it's a Z without question.

That tesla is a beast! Max torque at the line for the win.

Oh hell no. If all I cared about was a drag time I'd have a Honda CRX with a crate motor. To be honest I don't get why guys get a new Z06 and then try to make it run 8s. Seems like a waste of a sports car. I want to go electric for many reasons...the fact that electric motors have nearly triple the efficiency and therefor great acceleration is only one reason.

Best,
Gene

The Z06 can go across country and the roll start goes to the Z06! The electric stuff is MEH and use less. They still can't go anywhere as far traveling. No places to get charged which will leave you walking when go across country.

Also another reason why who cares about the 1/4 mile it's a **** poor measure of fast and it is all the 60ft. Highway start and the p100d or whatever gets left!
122 is the story slow with a quick 60ft!

Passing on one for at least a few more years!

Didn't Car and Driver run a Tesla at this year's Lightning Lap and it was either the slowest car or nearly the slowest, so it seems like the Tesla is good at only one thing?

Such a 1 trick pony. Can't road race. Can't drive across country. But definitely one hell of a 0-120mph.

you can travel the entire country for free using the Tesla superchargers... either way, I would rather fly across the country then drive, so moot point in my case...

hard to beat the Tesla as a DD, it can smoke just about anything up to 125 MPH or so.....

it's a 5,000 pound 4 door sedan, if you're on a road course in any big sedan, you're doing it wrong...

While electric is certainly the wave of future, the combustable V8 sound will be missed the most.

Love both cars, but in the end it comes down to more than a race track for me. I will get further on a tank of gas and when I'm in the middle of Iowa I will be able to get gas when I run out, try getting a charge

This is all OK. I respect the Tesla......................however

If I were to race a Tesla, it would be best of 5 races with no recharging.

First race may go to the Tesla, and in each subsequent race my chances of winning to way up. Once they lose a percentage of their charge, their performance goes way down.

The Tesla is a 5,000 lb. luxury electric vehicle.
The Z06 a Sportscar.
Two VERY different purposes and tech.
Each have their place, but comparing them in terms of performance is just plain dumb.

Not so sure about that. Some people say they can go back to back to back to back without slowing down.
