Default Homelink visor question

New owner of a C7 Z06 1LZ vert. Being that the car I got is a 1LZ I dont have the homelink (garage door opener buttons) on the visor. The visor I have does have a vanity light so I know its wired for power.

Anyone know if I can just order a visor for a 2LZ or 3LZ that has the homelink and swap them out? Hoping its still the same power connector for the visor. Any input appreciated. thanks gang!

I'm going to guess that (a) it's an easy swap, and (b) no one here has tried it yet. I'd order one from the GM dealer (unless you can find a salvage one cheap) so long as you're able to return it. Probably has the same connector, plugs right in. There's no reason they'd make it complicated for themselves that I can think of...

Years back I had an M3 that didn't have them because they didn't come on the M3 mirror, only the base 3 series, which had a square mirror. The M3 got a "special" mirror that didn't have Homelink and was round, but I was told they could be swapped. What BMW did 10 years ago doesn't mean much, but it's one positive sign...

I just did my 1LZ convertible a few weeks ago. I ordered the following part# 23240810.

It was $199 plus $8.00 shipping.

Easy swap, plenty of us have done it. Shouldn't take any more than 10 minutes

Default I did it

The swap is easy.... I found a forum member selling his visor and swapped it with mine. Loosen the screws, and unplug the power. The power for the vanity powers the opener...

If you find a used one, might save a few buck But if you buy new, you can still diy

Just buy new, used one is like a unicorn. I've been watching for one on this forum, ebay, craigslist,.... for 2 months now. I'm in no hurry, so I'll just wait.

thanks all! will do.

on another note without starting a new thread. my HUD is tilted on the window - the display leans to the right. this is not just me right? should be level as the horizon?
