Sunglasses and HUD don't mix
Beautiful day here in the Midwest, a great day for cruising. Got in the Z and backed her out of the garage. I could barely see the HUD, thought the dash lights hadn't adjusted to the outside light. I started screwing around with the HUD's brightness and moving the image up and down.
Everything in the HUD looked pink and washed out.
Anyway I thought WTF something has finally gone wrong with the car.
I kept jacking with the HUD controls until my wife tells me to knock it off be for we have an accident. I took my new polarized, super duper sunglasses off to look at her. I took a look at the HUD and all was perfect.
The moral of this story is I think polarized sunglasses and the HUD are not compatible. LOL

True. You need to use non polarized sun glasses to see it better.

Yup me as a pilot I have to use non polarized sunglasses or I can't see my PFD or MFD. I know it may sound nuts but about 3yrs ago I bought a pair of Cartier sunglasses that utilize powdered metal on the lenses (gold in my case) and it blocks all the bad UV rays. They work great and don't obscure your vision. Pricey but they are hands down the best sunglasses I've ever bought.

Just FYI, Maui Jim's (some of the best sun glasses ~IMHO) even though polarized, do not negatively effect my HUD. Can't read some gas pumps for s**t, but the HUD in my '15 Z is clear and clean. My son summarized them by calling them High Def glasses. Must be tried to believe.

Yeah, funny thing is, in my Dodge, I can see the screen without issue with polarized lenses - no matter which way I turn my head. I want to know how they did this, as it goes against my knowledge of how LCD screens work.
I didn't get a chance to try them in the Corvette, but it did make the HUD and screen hard to read in my Camaro.

BluTech Sunglass Lenses
I work in the eye care industry.
BluTech "Outdoor" Sunglass Lenses , which can be also be made in RX. You will be able see HUD, gas pumps, electronic signs... Cuts disability glare and amazing contrast.
Ask for a Hoya lense design in BluTech and you will not be disappointed.

Yes.
Polarization is designed to bend light/glare off axis to improve vision. If you turn your head 30-40 degrees to the side it allows the light through the film in the lens... so you can see has pumps, LCD....
If you are looking for SG lenses that work and allow you to read electronics, Phone, Gas Pumps, HUD.... Get BluTech sunglass lenses.

It should, if you go 45 degrees (or 90). Polarization only blacks out the screen in one axis. They SHOULD have used the exact same axis on the screen and the HUD, but I don't think they did.
So long as the screens are polarized vertically, it shouldn't be affected by lenses polarized horizontally (which is what you want for road/water glare anyway, so that's good).
The HUD, however, does not like horizontal polarization for some reason. Makes no sense to me, they knew darned well a lot of drivers wear polarized lenses. Maybe there's no way around it, but the iPhone screen works in any orientation -except- multiples of 45 degree angles (or at least the iPad did last time I checked).
I once sat fighting with my iPad for what seemed like minutes trying to get it to power up, when in fact it was already on, but I couldn't see it due to the polarization of my lenses.
