I did buy the BL 3500 with a DC pump so I can take it to the track and just use a jump pack to run it. The quality of it looks good welds look ok. Comes with rubber blocks to lift. I will use jack pucks and the blocks. They did send me the BL 5000 First so I got to take a look at both. The BL 5000 is the way to go if you’re going to use it in the garage at home. Wide longer taller heavy duty compared to the BL 3500. I wanted the lighter 3500 to haul around with me in the trailer. I think theres a Xmas sale going on just call I got a smoking deal on black friday sale! I have a 4 post hoist in my garage.3500 will work for what I want but I would suggest the 5000 for the C7vette

Do you think you can install new side skirts with the Quick Jack?
When I use mine, part of the lift is under the side skirts. So I don't think they could be removed/installed using it they way I am. If I move the blocks, I should be able to push the lift under the car farther and perhaps they would clear. I can test it next weekend if you want.

Spoke to Ryan just a short while ago, he mentioned $100 off for Christmas and couldn't match the $150 off
I plan to use a thin carpet mat under the ramps in the future. I am also also thinking about buying thin indoor/outdoor carpet material (like I throw in the back of the pickup) and attaching strips to the bottom of the ramps with contact cement. Since I plan to use the Quickjack almost exclusively in the garage that would eliminate the scarring of the epoxy as I move the ramps under the cars.
I bought a Direct 4 post lift for my garage about a year or so ago. It has made such a huge difference, I will never be without one again. It sells for just over $2000 but I ordered some extra options and had it delivered and set up for a total of around $3000. It is made by Rotary but under the Direct lift name. It is also safety approved and certified. All the stickers say Rotary. I can even roll it out in my driveway to pressure wash the underside of the corvette. I park one vette on the lift and my other under it and still have room to use the rest of the garage. It is an 8000 lb lift. Has casters, drip trays and sliding jack tray included. For about $500 more, you get a sliding jack.
A few notes:
These things are really heavy, while I'm not a body builder, I'm not exactly weak.
I highly recommend a carpet underneath, they slide much easier for proper positioning and gives you something to lay under. Also protects your floor coating if you have a floor coating. I bought carpet from Lowes for $0.45 a sq ft, for a total under $50
Easy to assemble, just a bit of a pain in the rear.
Transmission fluid (need to buy 2 quarts) is awful smelling
While they don't look strong, once you receive them you're kinda blown away and those thoughts are long gone.
Unfortunately I had 1 quick disconnect leak, they're very heavy duty but one leaks so I'll have to reach out to Ranger to send a new one
Their instructions are not the greatest, the pictures are black and white and really hard to see any details, but as I said it's easy assembly. Also note, one of the wrenches they tell you to use is 1 size too small.
Overall, I'm extremely happy, simple operation with very strong parts and a very tall lift. Where were these when I installed headers!!!
I don't have the option to install a two or four-post lift in my current garage setup. I am considering the system below as an alternative for small jobs like detailing, oil changes, etc (not tranny pulls or things of that sort). Has anyone had experience with this modular system?
I bought the 80" Combo RaceRamps for my wife's car and can use them on my 2014. They are easy to store in an attic and come in two pieces per ramp. They are very dense but light. I bought some auto show "demos" so the price was reduced.
Not a stupid question at all. I had the exact same question before I bought mine. As Jeff said above, it lifts at the jacking points.
It does not lift along the whole frame of the car, although it looks that way in pics. What happens is that they supply you with these rectangular, rubber blocks. There are a few sizes. They sit on top of the lift at 4 separate locations and can be moved around. These are the lift points.
So on a Vette, due to the fact that it is low and may have side skirts, you can also use jacking pucks. Using the pucks also makes sure that the rubber blocks don't touch the rockers. So the procedure is to install the pucks on the car, slide the lift under the car, then place the supplied rubber blocks on top of the lift and directly under where the pucks are. So basically the rubber blocks will lift exactly where the pucks are, onto the pucks. It can be done without the pucks as well if your car has enough room at the jacking points.
As far as I know, the ramps are generic and will likely work on most cars. They are rated according to weight. I have the 5000lb rated unit but they also make a 7000lb rated unit with an adapter for SUVs. I've used my lift on my Benz, both my Vettes (C6 and C7), my wife's Acura and my son's Nissan. All with no problem. Just locate the jacking points on the car, and arrange the rubber blocks to be below those points. I've used it with and without pucks.
Mordeth, Just to chime in... I have the quickjack 5000xl. I bought them shortly after buying my car and struggling to get all 4's up to change oil with a jack and jack stands. These are a great alternative. I don't use them often, but definitely every year at storage time to work on the wheels and clean under the car. As you stated these are very safe as long as you engage the locking bar and hit the down button to seat them. I don't have room for a post lift so these are great.
