Default Chrome Aluminum Wheels Q (RPO Q6B)

When I ordered my ZO6 the other day I had selected the black aluminum wheels but I am starting to think the Chrome Aluminum wheels will look better... Are the Chrome Aluminum wheels a very good quality wheel? They are charging a lot for them and I would imagine so but I'd rather hear it from people who own them.

Thanks!

Mine are over a year old and still look like new. They look like very high quality to me...

I've had mine since April and they appear like new. I got them simply because I like the looks. --Bob

Yes, they do look good. I ordered originally with black but I am definitely thinking chrome or the pearl wheels will look better. Trying to decide if I get the stock wheels and buy some aftermarket ones. They are asking $2,300.00 CDN (about $1,600.00 USD) for the upgrade to chrome wheels... Guess I'll have to do some research and see what aftermarket wheels cost ( which I am guessing is more )?

Are the pearl aluminum wheels a painted wheel or is it just a duller aluminium finish?

I like the Chrome wheels so much I have eight of of them (two for drag radials, plus a spare rear pair for sale). So six rears and two fronts!

Chrome wheels are easy to come by. Most want to get the black wheels.

They are a natural aluminum finish with a clearcoat.

I'm a fan of chrome and ordered my 16 Z06 with them but have had a lot of problems with bent wheels. Not sure if the chrome process somehow softens the aluminum, the Washington State roads have to many chuck holes or simply bad luck has cause me to replace 5 wheels in 4200 miles. No track time involved and normally drive in the tour mode.

Chrome here...no problems with mine they are made in China. IMHO the chrome really pops with Red, Black, Wihite and Silver. FYI however I think for PY 2016 they will be made in Mexico. (Hovever do not quote me).

Chrome is old school. I'd stick with the black. GM designers put no chrome on the rest of the Z06 for a reason.

This car is very frustrating in terms of selecting options... everything is good... makes it very hard to make a decision and with the long wait times there is just so much going through your head! Love it.

Good point, but I think most of us ARE "Old School". I'm 43 myself! This is the dilemma though! Do I want to be old school or new school

To be "Old School", which means to add Chrome wheels to match the rest of the chrome/silver on the car (like I did back in the early `70s) or the dark/black wheels to match the black vents (like I did to match the car in the 21st century).

There is very little silver/chrome on the exterior of this car and therefore chrome wheels really don't match well.
They can work better if the cars exterior paint is white/silver, etc. that helps match with the chrome wheels.
Add some silver/chrome exterior items and then it can work.

Good luck with your decision.
