2018 ZR1 Purchase - Just wondering

Turn 12!
I will be buying one, but not the first year of the release.

The mid engine Corvette isn't a high priority with GM because of the engineering cost, it is cheaper to come out with new paint colors. How many buyers are spending the additional 15k for the Carbon Edition and will they be willing to spend even more for a mid engine.

Thanks for following my posts! But this is a Corvette Forum sponsored for actual Corvette owners and enthusiast's to talk about the Corvette's and the latest wares for sale.
Looking at your last 5-6 posts your just using this forum for a way to harass forum members instead.

I am also skipping the ZR1, and waiting for the mid-engine (ME), although if judging the spy photos by looking at the wheel size is any indication, I think the first ME model may be a base unit and not high-performance. If that's the case, I would keep my current Z07 along with the ME, then I will trade-up the ME in the following years as more powerful models are released.

I bought a 2016 Z because We were told by Tadge that there would be no C7 ZR1. What happened? Now there will be? Can't trust anyone. Sorry but for me there goes the credibility.
Lots of you have had more Vets than have I. I am on my 5th so maybe I don't count but it sure feels like a con job to me if it is true..RRM

I, like you, have only had few Corvettes - on my number 10. If you think getting a first-year C7-ZR1 is too soon or too steep on the pocket (I am not insinuating affordability - simply loss of value in current car), wait until the second or third year. As for me, as much as I will hate not getting the ZR1 - I hope I don't regret it, I am waiting for the mid-engine, in which case, I will keep my Z06 alongside the ME.

I'm really upset that the Porsche dealer (or Porsche, for that matter) didn't tell me that they were going to build a 600+ hp GT2 when I bought my 911 Turbo. I feel like I was misled to believe that I was buying the top performing 911 variant forever.

Maybe you should go buy another $80k Macan and spend the next 3 years telling everybody how your "Porsche" is so much better than Corvette (but those of us who pay attention know you just bought a cheap version of the brand, a half-priced Cayenne, lol) and making disparaging remarks about Corvette owners.
They made Macans just for people like you, lol.

I'd never buy the first year of a new model.

I would like to buy the GM C7 ZR1 Wing. Does anyone know where I can source it from? Trunk Monkey, RPI Designs, Cultrag....?

GM we'll be setting up to sell 30000 plus mid engine not 2 or 3 thousand. This will keep there cost down 117 a day not 10 a week.

I also heard from a reliable source in Detroit that it will be a track edition Z06 with the extra cooling, aero, and larger supercharger. I might consider one whatever it's gonna be called since a new mid platform would have a few years of gremlins to work out where a track edition Z06 or ZR1 would be more likely have the track concerns of the current Z sorted out. I bought our 15 Z with tracking in mind and never have since I didn't want to have to remedy the cooling issues or keep my foot out of it while it recovers. FWIW Never had any Z cooling issues for my street use and the car is amazingly fun every time I drive it.
Then again, it could be an indication of a repeat cycle for me since I sold our 11 ZR1 due to not feeling the suspension geometry was sorted out. The C7 Z sorted that out but introduced a new cooling issue.
Maybe I should just keep the Z for street fun. 650HP is excessive for the street which is just about right IMO. I've been considering an Ariel Atom if GM doesn't produce a real track vehicle this time whatever they call it.
