Yeah it was pretty damn cold this morning in NJ

Your garage floor looks awful, might want to consider some RaceDeck tiles, epoxy floor coating with polyurethane top color coat, or a metallic epoxy with a polyurea top coat

No problem
There are a bunch of relatively simple solutions, I'd probably go with the tiles as they're slightly less expensive than doing a good epoxy job, plus you can take them with you if ever move or park your car elsewhere

Before you buy the Costco stuff, check pricing with RaceDeck and tell them you're a GarageJournal forum member. They discount quite a bit to where it is competitive for a better product with way more options

You would be better off charging the battery from under the hood.

The only other thing that I can think of is maybe where the cigarette end adapter plugs inside the car...maybe that comes apart to allow me to connect the extension? I'll check in the morning.

Otherwise, do you know if I can just use a "regular old home" extension cable?

the unit you have is a Ctek. you just has the corvette logo on it

OP, like others have said get an extension or charge from under the hood. just for the convenience of it i hooked up my battery tender under the hood to the fuse box and it's a one second plug in and walk away deal. good idea with the tire cradles and glue traps as well. my garage is climate controlled so hopefully when i get an unwanted visitor out there (which i have in the past) they stick to under my work benches (i also have traps, glue boards and ultrasonic in the garage) as it's a constant 68f degrees or so year round in there!

in the pic i posted you can see where i hooked up the negative and the positive terminal goes under the fusebox cover with the quick disconnect to the battery tender to the right.

I like it so there's no crushing of the wire or gasket in the hatch and it's a secure connection unlike alligator clip style which if someone bumps into the wire it can get knocked loose, off or god forbid short something.

Yes i'm OCD (and proud of it)

Just got home from the Z Giants Cowboys game.

Damn it's starting to get cold, my feet were frozen most of the game. I kept sneaking out and walking to the Giants store that was warm
