CZ.R Stickers/Decals?

Do you actually tell people it's a C7.R? In the pictures I posted you can't really see it, but that is a car show entry form and he actually states C7.R. Kinda sad...
I get it, put on all the stickers and badges you want as it's your car. It's posers that actually tell people it's something it's not I lose respect for.

IMO, he's a poser if he tries to sell the car as something it's not. If he says "This is the C7R special edition package" and it's not, he is certainly a poser. If he wrote "C7R" on a show dash plaque, that's just a silly thing to do. As a Corvette fan boy, when looking at his Torch Red C7Z, I don't think of it as a C7R special edition wanna be, just a Torch Red C7Z with the Jake stinger, some matching stripes and some window decals.
To me, there is a big difference in adding decals and slapping on a badge like Z06, ZR1, or 427 when the car isn't any of these.
Like I said, silly for him (or the show team) to list C7R on a Z06 with decals.

While I have admitted to being one of those that would slap some C7.R stickers on a CRY for the look, never would I pass it off as one.
My appreciation of the C7.R stickers is that it helps take away "all that yellow". If I, or anyone here, could come up with a scheme to temper all that yellow, I would be all for it. Anyone ... anyone ... Bueller ... Bueller ...?
To my "colorblind eyes", it's the melding of the gloss from the CF on the hood and the Jake sticker in a contrasting matte finish, the matte finish of the C7-R sticker on the roof over the gloss decal and the trailing edge of black just before the spoiler. That C7.R could say "Z06" or "Corvette" for all I care, it's the contrast and interest that I appreciate. Heck, even the application of that thin yellow tape around the edge of the wheels makes a difference.
Even though I am not much of a black car guy, even the black version of the C7.R is not something I would kick out of bed. I just found a used black C7.R (~400 miles if I recall) and it's going for about 98-99. Were it a manual, I would be talking to the dealer instead of deciding what I need to do with just a CRY Z06 to make it look like a C7.R.
I know, I know, first world problems...

I added custom painted Torch Red FRC covers for my C5 LS1 and I had a guy at a Corvette show have a complete melt down claiming that no LS1 should ever have red FRCs as that's a color reserved for the Z06. Like I broke some kind of Corvette commandment. I just liked how red matched up with Spiral Gray.

Thus the word "if" in my original post. I find nothing wrong with the Red C7Z and I don't view the car as a poser C7R, just an owner personalizing a car to his liking. Not sure why the owner or show team wrote in C7R on the Corvette dash plaque, but it's only a car show.

That's where I am coming from. I like the look.

Great thread. I bought the "wet transfer" Jake decal (3M 1080 material) from Vettestripes. Has anyone installed these wet transfers themselves? If so, any special tricks or lessons learned?

I don't get it. A guy installs a Jake hood stinger, matching stripe, Chevrolet Bow Tie and Corvette windshield decals and he is a C7-R poser? I don't think the red Z06 looks anything like the C7-R or the C7-R special package street version. Even if someone wrote in C7R on his show card, it may have been an honest mistake. The owner has racing harnesses matched up with the Comp Seats so the car probably sees some track time and he's just trying to make the car look more unique. I would never look at that car and think the owner is trying to promote the car as something it's not. Not like some in the C5 crowd I've seen over the years who slapped Z06 fender badges on non-Z06 FRCs or coupes and tried to pretend their car was something it wasn't.

looks awesome bro
Here are a few pics of my 2015 Z06. For the record, I had all but the roof stripe done before the C7R edition even came out. I had the roof decal made with my last name cut out of it so the silver shows thru and the black matches the carbon flash black or whatever it was called, and lines up with a continued stripe on the back and with the hood stinger. I've started tracking and thought this would be a cool way for my wife or son to tell it's me when I come around at high speed.

Yes, I did. I bought it from Vettestripes and did it myself. I lowered the hood grille, taped the edges of the hood near the windshield for centering, used lots of transfer liquid on both the decal and the hood and took my time doing it inn the garage. The Jake decal went on top of the 3M 1080 carbon flash decal. Here is what it looked like:
