It appears GM's marketing scheme is working.

Do you plan on doing testing?

I'm confident that my power package setup (CAI, x-pipe, 2.3 pulley, 160*, 17 lid) will net the BEST results for bolt on (no tune) only applications. You heard it here first.

Interesting. If true, GM knew well the issue with cylinders 7 and 8 and created a tune that pulls timing aggressively based on a few parameters it observes.

I can see now, that even SAE certified power is not created equal.

Interesting the same person has this info too: "The LT4 big hat chargers are slightly taller than the old charger to accommodate raising the inter cooler bricks. When I left the plan was to make it a running change for 2017 cars. I'm sure the part number changed for the charger. "

So there was some concern from the intro of the LT4 about heat in the air charge inside the supercharger.

You are going to do the pulley without a tune?

Default Pulley without tune.

I've heard a few out there doing the 9% lower without a tune, but not a 2.31" upper.
How do these two pullies compare? Which one increased boost the most!?

Yes! You can swap out the pulley without tuning, however, the pulley size in the tune should be changed. The stock upper is 2.995, so adding a 2.3....will spin the blower faster. The oem stock tune is so pig rich it will only benefit from a swap. Tuning is not a requirement, but some car owners do it anyway because they add CAI, headers, etc.,. I'm not going to install a CAI or headers.

I think Joe did a thread on it where he changed the upper and saw gains on a stock tune only car (1+ psi boost).

do you have a link for hood liner and tabs?

Did the lid bolts come with it?

Thanks

According to the stock ECU mapping they built in timing pull on cyl1, not cyl7 or cyl8.

HPT doesn't necessarily have all tables available.

Probably the most influential 3% of tables are visible. We don't get everything, only what is considered "necessary."

True I don't know what is not present. That by cylinder static built in timing pull seems like where they'd want to shove those values though. I guess someone would have to break out a manual timing light to confirm 7&8 are running less advance.

HPT v3.4.9 will show some hidden values if you do file comparisons.

It would be nice if the logging software had PIDs for each individual cylinder. Maybe that is something HP Tuners can add with minimal effort?

they do for some applications and pid type (like spark), some of it depends on whether it is supported by the ECM, in this case the E92.

you can email support to add things you feel you need and see if they can. maybe start a discussion about it on HPT.

I think a lot of us are using 3.5 Beta for everything it works for with stability. Not sure what you mean by "hidden values" though. If they are visible then they aren't hidden.

What he said. HPT (or any tuner software for that matter) can only read what GM allows to be read. There's no "hidden" files that one piece of software is able to read while others cant. Either GM allows the files to be seen or they don't. Gander into the history on the LML Duramax and you'll see what its like to be completely locked out of the tune files by GM. Took several years for guys to come up with the hardware to crack into the ECM to be able to "see" the tune files but even then it was all ASCII code and no way to see the nice pretty colorful charts like in HPT or EFI Live. The point I'm making is if GM doesn't want you to "see" the files...you won't. And it doesn't matter which software package you choose to try and "see" them.

Why wouldn't this be a warranty item since they know it is an issue?
