Might want to wait and see if the new (larger?) ZR1 supercharger will fit.

Can't say enough good about these guys (Trunk Monkey). I have been satisfied with all of my previous orders. On my previous order, I received my lid and it was perfect but the hood insulator was damaged. I know these are expensive to ship but they have bent over backwards to make it right at no extra charge to me. I will and have already ordered more parts from them.

Our CNC guy was toying around with an aftermarket lid... Too bad he's so slow on it, I think there could be an additional benefit over the 2017 lid.

changing just the lid, independently of the other changes mentioned by Tadge, may offer little benefit. may be wise to wait for the mentioned retro kit for existing customers, if and when, it happens.

Could help myself, here's a few pics of me installing my Supercharger cover. You can see the "bricks" are much different on the 2017 engine. I asked a couple of engine builders about the bricks and they had never heard that term.
Installing supercharger
Picking out my cover
Very cool
Inspecting sealing surfaces

Didn't read whole post read where some one wanted the new tilted bricks they require the base be changed that's my understanding they also allow more air flow to cyl 7 and 8 to allow more cooling keeping from reducing power.
This was my understanding correct me if I'm wrong. I have 16 Auto first one since 1984 hate the car. Want my stick back.

does it work?
I just installed the 2017 supercharger lid on my 2016 Z06. The install took about 20 minutes for the hood insulator (84016133) and supercharger lid (126703730) took about 30 minutes.
I purchased the parts from Trunk Monkey. The supercharger lid arrived damaged, because GM did not pack the bolts(which I did not order and were not on the bill of materials) in a bag. They just threw them in loose. So Trunk Monkey was great and replaced it with a new one. I also ordered the retaining clips for the hood insulator, but I used a plastic interior pry bar and got them out and they were in perfect shape. If you are careful, you can do the swap without new insulator clips.
Will the lid help at the track? I don't know. On my naturally aspirated cars I did run a plenum spacer and they seemed to help. The new lid has a lot more volume, looks badass and I don't think it will hurt. I am not going to swap out the intercooler bricks with the tilted ones.

I would like to do these upgrades, but I think without installing the updated bricks, which you can not, It would not help the main problem of dissipating heat. I would love to hear your experience after upgrades.
Thanks
Jim

Bump for this.
Does anyone have solid numbers to compare temps for track days after swapping the lid?
possible hp increase?
Data Logs would be helpful,
thanks in advance!

Lid won't make a bit of difference. Buying a larger pair of shoes won't make your feet bigger either.
The taller lid is there to accommodate larger intercooler bricks. You'd need both to make any difference, but they're not available that way.
Any even if you had all the parts, it doesn't increase power, it just preserves it. At least not more than 2% which would have required GM to re-certify the motor.
Sorry to hear that. I like my A8Z way, way more than I did my M6. I would never go back to a rowboat with the transmission tech that's out there today. Or points, or split rims, or any other ancient tech. I have all those retro things, just not on my brand new sports car!
