2017 Z06 supercharger lid installed on 2016 Z06

It's possible that the additional plenum volume helps I suppose. But my assertion remains: if it's more than 2% change, GM is required by law to re-certify the motor.
Unless and until someone has compelling information to show that GM has broken that law, I'll take them at their word. Unless I grievously misunderstand the 2% max delta, I suppose.

Nobody has had one on an engine dyno that I know of and 20hp is probably within the margin of error for a roller dyno.

Did the new Supercharger lid you installed come with a new gasket or did you have to order it seperately.
I just installed the 2017 supercharger lid on my 2016 Z06. The install took about 20 minutes for the hood insulator (84016133) and supercharger lid (126703730) took about 30 minutes.
I purchased the parts from Trunk Monkey. The supercharger lid arrived damaged, because GM did not pack the bolts(which I did not order and were not on the bill of materials) in a bag. They just threw them in loose. So Trunk Monkey was great and replaced it with a new one. I also ordered the retaining clips for the hood insulator, but I used a plastic interior pry bar and got them out and they were in perfect shape. If you are careful, you can do the swap without new insulator clips.
Will the lid help at the track? I don't know. On my naturally aspirated cars I did run a plenum spacer and they seemed to help. The new lid has a lot more volume, looks badass and I don't think it will hurt. I am not going to swap out the intercooler bricks with the tilted ones.

Mine included it. Per the dyno I picked up maybe 8whp with the change but honestly if I had to do it all over again not sure it was worth the ~$600. Cooling seems unchanged in 1/2 mile logs I evaluated before and after.

is this the same lid as the 2019 have also, or have they changed it again since?
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1597580740 your tall lid might pay off here soon, go to the bottom of this thread and look what we figured out...

So does anyone know for sure that the newer cooling brinks will not fit into a 15/16 supercharger unit?
iI may have missed it in this long *** post but I don’t think I read that anyone tried them and they did not work.

You must buy a 17+ blower to get the true benefits. The lid alone is maybe 25% of the problem.

A real performance boost! Plus runs cooler less weight as well! Superior set up with the 2300!

considering a 17+ blower is 1900 bucks used, i would agree to throw that money at a different blower with more displacement and runs cooler, unless the person is trying to hold their warranty, then the 17+ would be an option still.

They should have been the ones to repair any issues.
I think the warranty would be toast at that point! I agree save the price of the lid and get the money for the used 1.7. I was able to sell mine pretty quickly.
Makes the 2300 cost reasonable. The warranty card is way over played. My 2019 will get the 2300 right away.

Well, I have been on an interesting journey. I have a Z51 C7 LT1 engine and installed the older LT4 Supercharger. It became defective (I believe heat) and thru a bearing. Enough, purchased a brand new LT4 Supercharger that will arrive this week for install. The old one will be repaired or replaced by the company I bought it from someday and I will turn around and put it on E Bay. I am so glad I am getting the new type and won't need to worry about power loss. I am not exactly happy about the lid as it says "SUPERCHARGED" LT4 vs, "CORVETTE" but I can live with that. My biggest peeve is have to get a Z06 Insulator (not bad price 107 shipping included) but it will state "Z06" so not ideal but everything will fit. With the LT1s higher compression, Z06 fuel pump and injectors and an X pipe I am at almost 700hp.

I picked up a set along with the lid from a ZL1 Camaro and with very little work they fit right on in.
My Z is a 2015 so it is doable.

i have read before they would not work, but i want to do this.
Thanks!

I didn't want to read the whole thread so this has probably been answered but the newer lid fits with no clearance issues with the new hood liner. I changed mine because I wanted a new painted lid and it was nearly as expensive to have a professional painter do my old lid as buy a new painted one. I can live with the old bricks in my 2016 Z06 and would opt for a 2300 Maggie before spending $2000 for a used SC from a newer Z06.

big bollas, looks like you 'may' or 'not' of ported out the front of the supercharger? to match that throttle body adapter plate (in your bottom pic) that is used to mount a 95mm ZR1 throttle body. Please let us know when the car is back on the road what you think about the before & after mods made to the supercharger.
I personally am interested in performance results i.e. 1/4 mile from before & after.

You have a sharp eye my friend.👍🏽
Yes I did port the snout out so that it would take advantage on the ZR1 throttle body.
Its up and running already with no issues and you can feel the difference from before. I did base line it on the dyno so next chance out I will see what the numbers say. Don’t expect much from the lid or bricks other than better cooling but we will see.

How did you get the intercooler bricks separately from a supercharger body? Did they just bolt in or was there some massaging that had to take place? I am interested in doing this. Not to gain power but to reduce misfires and other problems that cause a drop off in engine power during long periods of wide open throttle high rpm operation on a track.
