Motor Trend ZL1 lap times
Very impressive numbers for the zl1,the Vette is still king of the hill but the zl1 in auto and stick beats up on a lot of cars 3 times its cost!

For a huge discount from the price of a Z07, (my loaded '15 was $108K; the loaded '17 ZL1 I just configured was $66K!), I can lap at about 95% of the speed until the tank is empty? Over and over.
Food for thought.

Scraping the splitter.
I wonder if they'll have an optional rear wing.

This bothers me (from the link in the OP):
"the Camaro team also did a wondrous job with the ZL1’s rearend, both lowering the roll center and making the familial electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD in GM speak) work better here than in any other application. This baby is a drift machine. Also, and quite importantly, the rear wheels have no problem putting down all the LT4’s power. I tried several of the Performance Traction modes (Wet, Sport 1, Sport 2, Race), but I quickly realized that the ZL1 is so capable that turning off all nannies was the optimum way to roll."

Shortcomings learned from year 1 & 2 Z06's are corrected in year 3 but land in the ZL1 - well done GM !! - this car will sell well for those lucky enough to get year 1 - hopefully without markups

11 coolers. Wow. A lot of cooling but also a lot of places where things can happen. Still, it's impressive, the figures, the numbers, etc. The one that also sticks out is reducing weight by 169 pounds. Maybe it's because the Camaro has more places to reduce weight, but still, that speaks well of the car and the people making it.

Those lap times are SILLY. Impressive is not even close...RIDICULOUS. For being a heavy, 4 seat, stamped out production car and to be able to hang with a McLaren on ANY track is just insane. Spanking 911 Turbo's, and hanging with McLarens = WOW. What a car. Well done GM.
Clearly, if they got the cooling issues sorted on the ZL1, then whatever the new 'edition' being introduced in January is, will likely have it sorted out too.

Good for the Camaro, but this is a Corvette Forum. I am sure they are discussing this on the Camaro Forums if one cared.

Until a faster Z comes along, that is.
