I'm not hating on it by any means, as it looks great and I am sure is a formidable vehicle. However, for $46k on top of the price of a GS, I believe you're now just paying for the name. For under $30k, you can do a Procharger conversion to a Z06 or bolt a Procharger onto a GS and with simple bolt-ons, a cam, and meth, you will be around 850 to the wheels.

I will remind Racer X that we all know this. And to correct you, the Corvette C4-C7 are technically "Front Mid-engine Rear Wheel" drive cars. In general speaking terms, when folk talk of a "Mid Engine", they are referring to Rear Mid-engine, like found on a Mclaren F1 or Ford GT. The term "Mid Engine" is generally accepted for discussion purposes to refer to these types of vehicles, and that is OK.
And sorry, but the car in the OP isn't a "Yenko". Just a sticker on a modified C7. Cool car none the less.

A Yenko Corvette...hum.. for those of you young people, the name Yenko may not mean much, but for someone who grew up in the 1960s near Canonsburg Pa, that name is huge! Yenko was a Chevy dealer who took factory performance cars like the Nova, Camaro, & Chevelle & made them way faster by dropping in 427 motors into these cars along with some other go fast goodies & made these cars street monsters, as well as big dollar collector cars today.
I guess that GM bought the rights to the "Yenko" name and therefore can now make a "Yenko" Corvette. This is a great car, but I say let the Yenko name rest in peace, are you kidding me by adding a $46k option to the Grand Sport?

"In honor of jpee"
I posted this over in Gen. After reading more about the car, I'm still with 449er. BTW, GM didn't buy the rights to the name Yenko; another company did.

Yes, I just read that SVE is the former SLP. I don't see the connection between a GS Corvette, and "Yenko" other than a great name from Canonsburg, PA. To the best of my recall, there were no forced induction cars from Yenko, ever.

Possibly foreshadowing the power plant for the new ZR1?

It is amazing how much better this seems than the Z06. One thing is certain they won't sell for list price....half a million each anyone? Just a guess.
BTW, I LOVE the engine compartment. NO Fuel Rail Covers and you can actually see the cylinder heads. I like that cause I'm old ( 67 ) and I guess don't much think the engine of a high performance car should be covered with cheap plastic to hide it.
Frankly, while I love my LT1 Stingray, I think the addition of Z06 level brakes to it and a hundred hp or so would produce the little brother to this Yenko that would eclipse both the GS and the Z06 all by themselves.
This machine IS the Hellcat killer for sure. Whereas, at least in a straight line, the cat kills the GS and Stingray everytime.

The price is pretty insane considering for $14k you can upgrade the GS to Z06 and that's about all anyone needs, but its cool to see something different.

It looks really nice and that gives some ideas to GS potential buyers that they can upgrade their GS to surpass the Z06 easily while avoiding the heat issues that the Z06 has.
I wish if they went with Twin Turbo instead of bigger supercharger unit.
Imagine a Twin Turbo Corvette with forged engine you buy from Chevrolet dealer with Warrantee!

You don't need a terrible sounding twin (lag) turbo in the new vette. My friend has an 05 Gallardo (4WD), 3150lbs, 500hp 0 to 60 3.2 seconds. If GM could match that with a four cam head natural 600hp motor 4WD mid engine car....watch out Universe beater!!
