Today I started my car and for first time I saw a "Device Battery Low" message. Does this message correspond to actual car battery or the remote battery? Thanks

You could always verify yourself. Pancake batteries in remotes should be at greater than 3.00 volts. Anything less and it's time to change. Fresh out of the package should be about 3.2 volts.

If you don't have a multimeter, just change the remote battery and see if the message still exists.

It usually means the battery in the remote, but I have had it happen with my phone and Ipod when they are low on charge.
