There are thousands of C5, C6 and C7's that are lowered on either aftermarket or stock bolts with NO issues. GM designed it that way, unfortunately, they just didn't make it where you could slam it (for reasons none other than hazards on public roads and delivery issues, not because it was bad for the car). Also, GM doesn't sell you drop spindles, that's strictly an aftermarket thing. Lowering a C7 Z with bolts isn't necessarily the cheap way. I've seen people destroy their shocks without their car even being lowered. To each their own.
