Getting those warnings with the coolant temp at 220' doesn't sound right. Our C6 typically runs around 220' in traffic and red line is about 255'.

Can something beside coolant temp give the warnings?

A trip back to the dealer, they found a sticky thermostat was the culprit, replaced the thermostat, it seem to help..👍

Thanks for your service!

You've had a few bugs with your Z, but hopefully it will be fine from now on.

You should not be getting that message until the engine coolant is in the 250 degree range, 220 is not at all unusual for modern engines. It would be a good idea to see what the oil temperature is doing when the engine warning is triggered. I leave my dash set to sport mode with engine coolant temperature in the DIC area and oil pressure and temperature in the pocket gauges on either side of the tach.

You should hear the cooling fan screaming at full speed when it is hot enough to trigger an engine temperature warning. Next time this happens try to get a cell phone camera shot of your dash to prove to the dealership what is happening.

The oil life monitor is also time based and it will decrease every month even if the car isn't driven. Prior versions required a change every year regardless of the OLM reading but now the reading also tracks time.

One other oddity you will notice if you watch closely is that the oil pressure will cycle rapidly from normal to high several times during warmup after a few miles of driving. The LT-4 (and LT-1) have a variable displacement oil pump and it switches to high flow during high power/high rpm engine operation. It will test/calibrate itself after start and you will see rapidly cycling pressure for a few seconds which is normal. If the control system fails it will safely default to high flow operation.

The A8 is a learning transmission so its behavior will change with driving. It also is changed by the driver mode you have selected and choosing sport and track modes will change the behavior. Full throttle upshifts will be accompanied by an additional pop/bang as engine power is briefly interrupted to allow faster shifting.

The photo below is how I leave my dash set up for normal driving.

And thank you for your service! My older brother also served in Vietnam.

First, Semper Fi my fellow Jarhead.

One thing I learned about the seats on the C7 - there are sensors that will cause issues with the seat moving back if there's anything behind the seats.

Enjoy the ride!

Don't adjust seat all the way back it will make seat intermittent.
