I noticed a crazy strong smell of gas the last month in my garage and realized it was from my car. So bad I had to park car outside at night because fumes were over taking the house. Bought it in yesterday and They found it. My 16 with 1400 miles is in with a fuel leak from around the left tank area and connecting tube to second tank. A week it will be in the shop! Part coming by Tuesday from Michigan and a 2.day job. Have to take the sub frame and transmission out to get to it. I'm praying they do this right with no screw ups. Unbelievable.

The C5 became a bit notorious for spontaneously combusting for the same reason. You did the right thing in taking it in. I hope you had it towed rather than drive it.

If C7 tank crossover is similar to C5 I have pictures to show what's involved in repair if leaking crossover. White plastic part was causing the leak.

Have the same issue with my 2016 Z51 with less than 2000 miles. Spent a week last month at the dealer for the fix. They found a crack in the fuel system near the gas tank. Now I have a resonant noise in the rear end that occurs around 1500 rpm's. Car at the dealer for that fix. Totally disappointed with the car.
