This is why the modding options and performance data are horrible for our cars....too many grey haired guys babying that warranty for a "I feel young again" weekend car... especially when you compared the after market to all the other muscle cars out there.

OP:

You say you are modifying the car, so why do you can which is faster stock to stock?

You sound super young, if you are concerned about being fastest, I got news for you...there will always be someone faster. Always. I don't care if you are Dale Freaking Earnhardt.

Buy what you like best and have fun modifying it but don't get lost in the relentless pursuit to be fastest.

I dont want to be faster than everyone else because I cant. But I want to feel the performance of a new z06.

If so, what's wrong with people of all ages enjoying this car, for whatever reasons are pertinent to them?

We have guys running 9s with minor bolt-ons and you think the options are horrible?

"Grey" is a name, not a color.

and if it weren't for "those gray haired guys" the corvette would be dead long ago. That's a certainty.

Actually the British spelling of gray with grey is acceptable now a days even here in the states, nice try though at appearing to be a grammar ****. Lol

Here is another point I would like to make on this. I modded Z with a big cam is not going to drive like stock or smell like stock, whereas a modded C7Z with just bolt-on should drive just like stock. From what I understand, with just a tune, pulley and CAI can jump the HP by about 100 on those cars. I have a C6Z making 525.1rwhp, which is roughly 604HP at the crank. Given it is 400lbs lighter than a C7Z, it would probably give it a run for it's money. But the grey area is the C7Z makes so much down low torque that it makes it great for drag racing, especially with the A8. So if you want to be faster, get the A8. I love my C6Z and I just didn't want to shell out $75-$80K for a new one. The C6Z is a hell of a performance bargain. To me the tougher decision is between the ZR1 and the C7Z, which are in the same price range. But for most, they would opt for the C7Z even though the ZR1 is far more rare and likely to be collectable.

That makes sence also, I guess I would go with the C7Z. But I would probably give it a bolt-on mode after driving it on stock for a while. At least when I start up my vette at morning I hear a nice tune from the exhaust .

Thanks for reply,

The old one is a nice ride for moding as the previos guys said. If the C7Z gets tuned it will be a monster on the road, I love something called C6 Z06 but when performance combines with a nice look car here comes something called C7 Z06.

So, I guess I would go on the new Z, even if it cost me double price of C6Z it still worth it .

Ali

Whichever car you want to dump the most money into will be the fastest. If speed is your concern buy a c5z as you can take the extra money and make it was faster than a c6 or c7. Or buy an old mustang, camaro/etc. If you don't care about stock, then the only thing controlling how fast a car is, is the amount of money you will put into it.
