Hey, we can't all be track superstars like you. As if you are a good enough driver to extract the extra performance that wing adds. I'd almost bet my house you are the type of guy that would show up with an ACR or riced out vette only to get lapped by a modified miata. That is, if you have ever visited a race track.
...and yes, I wax my car, but I also prefer a streamlined car with a clean look. Not everyone wants that wing so they can shave off .05 seconds on their lap time.
The ZR1 interests me because I much prefer the new front bumper and hood styling (probably the side fender styling too). I am also not a huge fan of the LT4 so the prospects of a different engine really intrigues me as well. So, a delete option on that wing, or the ability to remove it for street use, for me, would be nice. I think many others would also appreciate that option.
The options should not be, ZR1 with functional but ugly wing or buy a ZO6. If it is, I'll stick with what I have. Yes, I have seen the smaller wing, but that is strange looking too...

I could not agree with you more and see some real humor with all of this ZR1, Wing, Ring Time, drama. 98% of these cars will never ever be raced, we all know that. As if the size of the "wing" matters to the majority of first owners who will have their ZR1s tucked away and covered up in a garage. It cracks me up when some of these internet racing champions call guys like us "waxers" and are themselves very much in need of the stability that the "wing" provides them over 150 MPH. Absolutely hilarious.

Seriously...I just mentioned it would be nice if the wing was a bolt on and removable and the next thing I know I am being called a waxer who purchases aftermarket gaudy corvette louvers for my corvette...except I currently own a viper. Lol!
I'm not gonna lie, I put my coffee cup down, rolled up my sleeves and went to work on the keyboard.
Beating the Viper on the track is a tall order and not likely by much if at all.
No, I was commenting of the cars usage the rest of the time. It seems the ZR1 or whatever will be the predominant grocery getter without all that ostentatious fan fair. MD GTR same-same!

I hope to see a good "Ring Time" for the ZR1 but it would not push me in either direction if considering a purchase. You will never feel the difference between a car that is a few seconds faster or slower at the "Ring" on the street where these cars will spend 99.9% of their lives.
I get it, function over form, but damn...these giant wings (ACR, ZR1)look so dumb. I just can't get into that....and I am trying hard to like it. I want to like it.
Only GT3 RS wings look good. They are better integrated into body work of the car. This wing, and the ACR wind look so stupid that it would make me not want to drive the car on the street.
I hope they make it so you can bolt that thing off for street use...doubt it.

Z06 - Street first; track second;
ZR1 - Track first; street second.
How about the new feature that allows the license plate to flip down to a horizontal position when you push the hatch release button on the dash.
Then the license plate becomes a step so you step up and can reach over the wing to put something in or to get something out of the rear cargo hatch.
Or stand on the exhaust pipes... Apparently the ZR1 "made more than the 100 decibels that the course allows during industry testing periods. Engineering a new exhaust for the test mule would have taken too much time, so the team did the simple upgrade of extending the pipes."
I wish they would do something a little more elegant with the wing.
They need to make it removable. Those big wings just look ridiculous in normal use. Snap it on for the track and shove it under the stairs otherwise, YUK.
