It never ceases to amaze me that on this forum people can't have an opinion without denigrating the alternative. It's never enough to say that you prefer the look of the car without them, for example. People have to call them ugly, call them running boards, deem them pointless, etc...
I think it reeks of insecurity. I have chrome wheels, but I don't think people with black wheels are stupid. I have an A8, but I don't think people with M7s are bad people. I have side skirts, but I don't call cars without them "poverty" cars. I'm sure I've slipped from time to time, deep in a troll thread, but its not my natural reaction.
I mean come on, dare to advocate an opinion without slamming the -person- on the other end. They are optional for a reason. Get them or don't (standard 3/4 skirts exempted, of course).
Now if you want to debate the practical merits of the downforce they generate, great. That'd be interesting and informative.
I had no idea they existed when I found my Z. Its a 1LZ vert - I can tell you much more important to me was the ride height we can all control! top pic stock, 2nd pic after doing the lowering bolts. best upgrade to me.

I even showed the GM link that was posted above that clearly points out that the side skirts are on all MY 2017's.
Time to contact one of those lawyers on TV I guess.
I did email back the person that sent me this email and stated the info was under "changes". Can't believe she didn't look at the whole thing. (link is in msg 114)

But you're not asking him for a splitter or spoiler, right? You're specifically asking him about side skirts?
Yup, just the side skirts.
The gm post says, under "Changes" for 2017 MY "Standard molded rocker extensions on Z06 and Grand Sport models"
I was out today but my wife took a call from the GM lady and she said she checked the build sheet and no rockers were on the build sheet" so they are trying to weasel out with that story. BUT they are suppose to be there according to a GM paper.

Well, his response to you (that you cut & paste above) specifically states splitter or spoiler, not side skirt. Just wanted to make sure you were both on the same page.
Got a call from the new General Sales Manager at the dealer where I bought my 2017 Z06. Ready for this? He said he has the splitters and front spoiler for my car and to just call him when I leave for the dealership and they WILL be installed. He could not believed I was getting jerked around on this. Arrived at the dealership and the crew at service was waiting for me. Took me right in and put on the side skirts and front spoiler.
Took this pic a few minutes ago of the car with the splitters and front spoiler. Very happy with the outcome.
Good for you Bob! You finally found someone who was both intelligent and gave a s**t. You had to jump through a ridiculous number of hoops to get the correct answer which was clear from GM's own documentation. I am a loyal GM customer (3 GM vehicles currently and 14 total in the last 20 years) but problems like your story are far too common and it does cost customers and revenues in this highly competitive market. Every company makes mistakes but that is no excuse for making too many mistakes and certainly not "unforced errors".
You can spend a lot of money promoting an image and building customer goodwill and that can all be undone by one foolish error. Hopefully the rest of your ownership experience is MUCH better.
all 2017 Z06 have the side skirts as standard, my 2017 1LZ had them from the factory they were not a option on the 2017 they are also full length side skirts not 3/4. i sold my 2017 C7 z06, . And now my 2019 C7 z06 1LZ has 3/4'' side skirts factory from Gm not a option comes as standard, unless you upgrade to the other package, thank you,

my new 2017 C7 Z06 had GM Factory Full length side skirts ? 1 LZ, they went all the way to the back of the rear wheel wheel, and if you look at others they are the same, if factory, ? .

My number one reason 3500 dollars is a lot of money for some plastic add ons. They do serve a purpose they stop rock chips.

And if you want no paint chips without installing the side skirts you can cover the sides and brake vents with clear Xpel or a similar brand. I was tired of constantly kicking them when getting into our 11 ZR1 so I opted to go without.
i found out the newest C7 z06's 2018 and 2019 have Either the Stage 2, 3/4 length side skirts, Or if you get the stage 3 aero package option then you get stage 3 side skirts that are Full length, I didn't know some 2017 must have had the same set ups stage 2 side skirts, my 2017 came with full length, do you see any other 2017 With 3/4 side skirts like yours, most 2017 i see are full length ?, i do like the 3/4'' long look better, and my new 2019 has 3/4 side skirts, mark

Let me say it one more time...ALL 2017 Zo6's do NOT come with side skirts.
I believe that several people have said you are wrong, so I'll chime in.
Ordered and bought my 2016 Z06 from a local dealer who didn't realize the severe damage that can be created by this car (the wide body C7) without side skirts and front splash guards. I didn't order any aero packages at that time, I thought the car looked prettier with out them and had no idea of the protection they created. At 2000 miles my car's paint job was trashed on the rear quarters and the carbon fiber frame work on the rear brake ducts was destroyed. I raised holy h*ll with my dealer who brought the GM rep into the picture and they paid to have my car repainted 4 times (couldn't get it right, black car and it had swirl marks) plus they paid to have the car Xpel Ultimate covered on the rear quarters. It was in those meetings that the rep told me that the 2017 model wide body would have the side skirts standard....GM finally got the point that they F'd up when they released prior years with no protection. All 2017-2019 wide body Corvettes (Z06's and Grand Sports) have the 3/4 skirts standard and if you don't want them you can take them off when you buy the car.
