Default What is causing the Z06 to make this sound??

Hey guys,

I'm stumped on this for a few months now. My friend and I are trying to figure out what causes the Z06 in this video to make the sound while downshifting. Ive driven manual cars and trucks before and no way does it do what the vette is doing in this video. Is this rev match at work? Go to 1:29 in the video.

I couldn't get your video to work, but if you're hearing a blip of the throttle on downshifts, that is the rev matching. If you have aftermarket exhaust it tends to be louder, and more obvious.

yes it is exactly what I'm hearing. A rev just before a downshift. That is one of the most unreal sounds I've heard. I love the vettes exhaust!

Yup, rev match. It blips the throttle to match the engine RPM to the expected trans input shaft RPM.

M7 only of course. On the auto you get a fuel cut during upshifts which sounds deluxe. So each has their own unique cool feature...

As above, it's the rev match. Other manuals do the same, if the driver rev matches properly on downshifts. Of course most of them don't sound nearly as good doing it!
