Can't wait!! And the other side of the same coin is what can Porsche do if the P-car's msrp was $75K-$100K, roughly what the Z06 costs.

We'll probably never know. 😊

Or something like this? With much less hp and torque and AWD to boot? What is the lesson here?

Default That's easy! ;)

Drive smoothly, and you can't overcome Physics.

Dave Hill

Oh yeah, heat up the tires (especially in a 911)!

^^^^ I see stuff like that and shake my head.
Apparently, some folks' instinct is to push the right foot down in an emergency.

Was going to say something similar. I love the new 991.2 GT3, would be lucky to get my hands on one this go-around, that said, I think we should be very proud of the kind of performance GM is able to offer for half the cost of a GT3.

I blame too much torque as to why the Z06 can be unmanageable at the limits.

Torque is great everywhere and it's certainly an attribute, to a point. I've only run into a few folks that have the skill and the ***** to wring this car all the way out when approaching the limit. It's common knowledge that this car is a handful and I deeply respect someone who can walk the line with this beast on track.

Now that I have your acknowledgement I'm good. Thank you so much!

Oh now I recall. Was it back in February or there abouts when you noted how no one was Go Funding the Viper!? So how did that work out?

The Z06's torque is very manageable. This isn't a turbocharged monster that suddenly builds boost and just lights up the rear tires. Despite the big torque numbers, the delivery is linear and predictable. You can simply drive out of corners at lower RPM without the frustrating feeling of scooting your butt in the seat and desperately willing the car to move more quickly.

In nearly four months they got ~330 people to donate, lol. That clearly indicates how unimportant a Nurbringring Ring time is to the vast majority of people.
That's hard for you to understand because you don't have anything but the internet. And for people like you who have nothing but the internet and magazines, such metrics are important. For people like me, who have owned these cars (C7, C7 Z06, ACR, GT-R, etc., etc.) and extensively track them, it's not really a relevant metric. That's hard for somebody like you (and the myriad others here who routinely whine about "'Ring times") because you don't have a clue what happens at a real race track (i.e. we don't stand around talking about 'Ring times).

BTW Glenn...does a 'Ring time for the ACR mean you'll buy one now?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say "no".

YOU had them penniless for an eternity! It will be going by this summer, which, any possibility of wasn't conceivedable in any way by you, and yours.
And No I will be proud to see that monstrosity run them down but like many I'm afraid I wouldn't be caught dead in all of that, thank you very much! More importantly somebody's getting it done, no matter what!
And like I said you have been more expert than Mero in regards to The Ring. I'm also afraid that speaks for itself!

I'm afraid your closed-head trauma and subsequent mental acuity issues have left you confused.
I never "had them penniless for an eternity", Glenn. And "conceivedable" isn't a word. I'll let you find my post and quote it.
You "wouldn't be caught dead" in any of these cars, Glenn. Because the likelihood of you ever owning one is about nil. You're nothing but a keyboard banging, magazine-quoting drone.
S.
