If your planning on getting a C7 ZR, grab a low mile C6 ZR now, and then in a year or so when the forthcoming King of the Hill C7 ZR1 arrives, add that to the stable and have a nice pair of ZRs.

The C6 ZR1 might be a more "reliable" platform engine wise, and even that is subjective, everything else favors the C7Z. EVERYTHING.
If you get the C6 ZR1, trust me you'll regret it later on. Still a monster, a legend in it's own right. But again, and this is sounding like a broken record, GM absolutely killed it with the C7, especially the C7Z.
They finally got it right. And i'm sure the finishing touches will be seen when the C7 ZR1 comes out.
As of now, don't go backwards. Get the C7 z06. You'll love the car.

Hello all,
I have been away from the forum for a bit after I sold my C6 to buy a C7 and after it was released, I really did not like the C7.
Fast Forward to now...I am deciding between a ZR1 and a ZO6. Found a 1710 mile Cyber Gray 2009 ZR1 for $62k and sub 8k mile newer versions in the higher $60's range.
Other option is a newer used ZO6. I have seen real nice low mile versions in the high $60's/low $70's. (Nice looking DSOM on here, but it is 2LZ). Price ranges are about the same so that is not an issue. If I found an Indigo Orange ZR1, I would be sold. I am just unsure mainly because the ZR1 **** pit will be very similar to my old modded C6 but I know the power plant will be more fun to drive.
Thoughts, opinions or any idea where I can find the unicorn IO ZR1 with low miles?? Whichever I buy, I plan on driving quiet a bit. I have other cars, but don't plan on letting the new purchase just sit in the garage.
One of my businesses is a used car dealership so I have access to very large nation-wide and local auctions.

Well I think you might not be correct on this one:
Caravaggio's leather destroys GMs C grade Leather. His seats are way better too.
But you can't see the steering wheel from the outside.
What about a car that shares its tail light design with the entire Craptacular Chevy lineup?
C6 Steering can be swapped out for around $1K to Ferrari grade A leather. I think switching out corporate "Afterburner" taillights that adorn everything from the Camaro to the Cruze will prove to be more challenging.
Funny The C7 shares the same tail light design with the Cruze which is the Cobalt's replacement. A grand GM tradition for sure.

I wasn't talking about the steering wheel. More like the AC controls, stereo, etc. I don't care about the steering wheel at all.
Not a corporate styling concern. All manufacturers do that. No.Big.Deal.
That C6 have a tape player? What year did the Corvette even get a technology as basic as Bluetooth?

Drove a8 3 different times bought m7
I have a C6Z and love it, but I have to say I was impressed when I sat in a new C7 today, with the interior. It's much nicer than the C6, and then you have far more advanced technology/electronics. I have been riding the fence between a C6 ZR1 and a C7 ZO6 and go back and forth as a possible next Corvette. After sitting in the C7, I am leaning that direct now. But, of course, I would go with the C7 Z06 with an A8. That is going to be the quickest car. As some others have pointed out, the ZR1 is far more rare and has a better chance of holding their value and potentially going up in value. But if you are looking more at just the enjoyment or the driving experience, then worrying about the value is secondary. My purchase had some budget constraints, so the C7 Z06 and the C6 ZR1 were not considerations at the time. But with the C7 Z06 prices plummeting new and used, there are some great buys out there, particularly on a new one. I have heard $19K off MSRP. I don't know how you will be driving the car, i.e. leisure, track or drag race, but if money where no object, I believe I would opt for a new C7 Z06 with an A8. Some however like to shift and have more of driver's experience with the M7. Either way, I think I would go with the C7 Z. It's hard to argue against 650HP and 650TQ and the latest technology. I would try and drive them both before deciding.
I tried so hard to live the auto. Those paddle shifts are truly automatic slushy.

Sorry, man, don't take it personally.
If I was making some kind of Corvette collection where I picked one from each generation and stuck them all in a garage then the C4Z would be the one. Then I would keep the hood up so people could see the tops of the front tires all the time because I like that.
