Default Anyone change out the M7 transmission fluid?

Nearing the 15k mark and have not yet changed the transmission fluid. Has anyone tried a quality aftermarket synthetic fluid in the M7?

Default 500 mile fluid change

Yes for what it's worth, I changed my manual transmission fluid at 500 mile oil change just to be on safe side. Had opportunity to see drain plug as well and it looked clean with no metal shavings. I'd recommend for the cost to go and pay for it...under $190 if I recall.

Amsoil is best bought from Amsoil with their membership.

There are two fluids from Amsoil: Torque drive and the signature series ATF. When I asked Amsoil which one would be the best for heavy duty track use, they recommended that Signature ATF.

I always switch the trans and rear diff fluid at the first oil change to Amsoil, too many GM cars/suv's over the years with under fill conditions from the factory

Do Chevrolet dealerships carry the Armsoil or do you need to supply it?

I don't think dealers would even want to put anything besides OEM. I suppose YMMV.

I just changed mine last week at 2600 miles. I used Redline D4 ATF 4 Qts. It wasn't underfilled. Fluid ran out when I opened the Fill Plug. Tranny fluid looked OK. Changed the Differential fluid also. It looked bad!!

I went with Redline in mine and it feels better than new.

Here's a quick DIY I typed up: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-service.html

I changed all my Z06 fluids at 500 miles, oil, trans (m7) and differential.
Used the recommended Mobil One and Delco products = cheap insurance.
Highly recommend changing the factory fill after break in asap.

Thinking the same thing about changing fluid to Amsoil Torque drive, that is what the website suggested. Any warranty issues by going with another product than Mobil1 ?

I changed out the transmission fluid in my C6 Z06 TR6060(same basic transmission as the TR6070 that is in the C7; just lacking a 7th gear).

I found the Mobil1 DEX III synthetic ATF worked just fine in the Tremec manual transmission.

I tried the RP stuff and it made the 1st to 2nd gear nibbles worse than the factory fill.

Only use a DEX III ATF in the transmission.

I'm still running the factory fill(with over 50,000 miles) in my differential with zero problems. No after market stuff works as well as the GM rear end fluid.

yep....I changed mine at 700 miles.Had a very silver sheen to it.

It was an ez 30 min job.Takes a 3/8 socket and almost 4 qts.

Torque Drive is good and so is this.

Once you drain it and are ready to put new in does it need a pump of some kind to add the new oil?

Yes, a cheap fluid transfer pump works perfectly. Check the link I posted above which includes the exact pump I used that will screw right onto the bottles. They are readily available from Amazon or Harbor Freight.

Mine was about 1/3 qt low.

I was amazed that the fill & drain plugs were very loose.

What do you mean on the safe side? Good to change out the metal shavings after break in? But talked to a few people heard it's not really necessary? some said change it some say no need (for tranny and diff after break-in) I guess it's no big deal if you don't change them? but if you want to keep the car for a long time then change it or exactly what's the need to change it.
