Well, one thing you WON'T get with Callaway - they won't wreck your car (totaling it), while it is in their possession and then suggest you as the owner might consider committing insurance fraud as your next step to resolving your dilemma, like some sleazebags . . . eeerrrrrrrr. . . . shops have done.
Which is nice.

I own a Callaway and I can tell you some things about it. Callaway's aren't perfect but they are cool.
1. If there is a problem and it is related to Callaway, the dealership takes you right in just as if it was a typical Z06 and as the customer it is seamless (dealerships still sub-par compared to European and Italian but that is for another thread). I had an issue specific to Callaway and the dealer and Callaway worked cooperatively to fix it without any trouble for me.
2. Bone Stock (100% stock as delivered down to the stock filter and mufflers) it made 658rwhp on a very popular vendor's dyno which was about 100 more than they would typically see from a non-Callaway Z06. This was a baseline dyno and it would have been advantageous for him to have caused it to read as low as possible on the base line so that his upgrades looked better but in my opinion he didn't play any games or tricks with the numbers and the 658rwhp is/was real.
3. With the mods that most use to make less than 725 rwhp, I made 811 rwhp. I only have e85, cam, headers, 9% lower and stock upper. Nothing was ported (not the blower, not the heads, nothing). I still have the stock original filter too. There is obviously more in it if I went to an 18% lower and did porting of the heads and blower. How much more is up for debate and will never be known from my car as I am done with performance upgrades....(really!).
4. If you are going to modify and up the rwhp, be prepared to be the unicorn because only a couple of SC757's in the world have been modified for more power and they have some unique challenges and it isn't just a matter of taking a close tune from a Z06 and massaging it.
5. If you are going to modify it and later un-modify it, it will be difficult if not impossible for the dealer to know you have tuned the computer because the "Stock" Callaway has already had its tune flashed at 0 miles with HP Tuners software and (at least in my case), Chevrolet doesn't know how many times it was re-flashed. BTW, I have no plans to un-modify to get engine warranty work done (nor am I passing judgment on others who do - live and let live). I am just stating a point of fact.
6. State Farm bank saw it as more valuable than a non-Callaway Z06 and offered to lend significantly more money if I wanted (didn't need that because I decided to put a bunch down - not a fan of borrowing money to the point of being upside-down on a depreciating asset but that is a whole different thread and a personal decision not a judgment by me of others).
7. Car nuts at 'Cars and Coffee' events seem more interested in talking to me and about my car than the non-Callaway Z06's I park next to and that is BEFORE they hear the lumpy cam that I upgraded to. I had a guy last week literally run down his stairs in downtown West Palm to tell ME all the Callaway SC757 stats because he saw it was a "Callaway Corvette" and didn't know what that was but was excited to research and more excited to tell me about my car (he was really freaking out when he heard it start up with that lumpy idle after we talked for a while).
8. Callaway NEEDS to come out with a ZR857 upgrade to the ZR1 just like they have the package for the Stingray and the package for the Z06. I don't see why there cannot be a Callaway version of the ZR1...THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!! Then I would look at getting one AND MODIFYING IT for MORE POWER!! CHRIS, ARE YOU LISTENING???!!?!?!

You guys act like this is something new. Mercedes has AMG, BMW has Dinan, even Ford with Shelby (past versions) was a kind of top aftermarket factory backed tuner/builders.
But being honest, I wouldn't ever buy anything other than the factory version because that's what I want NOT that it's better.

It isn't based off one timeslip. Callaway themselves state 10.5 @ 131 so it's safe to say they didn't pack it in after a single pass right? Another member here went 10.6 @ 130 with his 757 package car.
While I think the price to performance ratio isn't great Callaway is a good company that is consistent and a good option for California folks that want more power while staying legal.

Did you read above where there was a C7 Z06 Callaway with the 757 package at a dyno day and only made 584whp? Come on man I was there and saw it with my own eyes. Oh by the way about the statement you made about my car lots. If you only knew.. Wait it sounds like you know everything so you probably know about my business. Everyone thinks they know the car business.

Here's an idea.. Anyone that has a Callaway 757 C7 Z06 should take it and put it on a dyno. Again I hate to be called a liar. I saw with my own eyes what the car made. It made 584whp. Oh well I think once the guys that spent all this money on them actually get them on a dyno there is going to be a lot of crying gonig on..

No warranty but you've also spent much less money, enough to cover anything that may happen. As far as the return, you're gonna lose money with both options and I wouldn't be surprised if you lose less on a bolt on car.

And you're comment about out-of-warranty failures is only applicable if you don't have a powertrain failure. When you do, and your bolt-on car has the warranty canceled by GM, would you be on the forums b*tching that GM wouldn't put a new $10k engine or $2500 transmission in your car?

What you don't seem to understand regarding the Callaway warranty is that you can take the car not only to a Callaway GM dealership but any GM dealership for service even for the items installed by Callaway. Then Callaway and the dealership work together to determine what parts have failed and if it is a Callaway part then they send the part, and a tech if necessary, to the GM dealership. The customer is not involved in any way with the service process.
The initial Callaway package is covered for 3/36,000 and you can purchase an extended warranty prior to the expiration of the original warranty to 5/60,000.
For this reason, and many others, Callaway products do not hurt resale value. Do some research and see for yourself.
Do Shelby packages or Rousch packages hurt the resale of Mustangs? No. The reason is that they are approved aftermarket engine builders that have an agreement directly with Ford. Callaway and GM relationship is the same and Callaway cars are sold directly through GM dealerships. Bowling Green will ship Corvettes directly to Callaway for modification and then directly to dealers or even back to Bowling Green for a museum delivery if the customer wants.
