Default Is upgraded heat exchanger necessary?

I was wondering if an upgraded heat exchanger such as the CPR unit would provide real world benefits?

How you are using the car and current temps would answer that question.

Spirited acceleration. I enjoy drag racing. Summer is hot and humid in Indiana!

Mine is going in today for their heat exchanger, LMR expansion tank and 17 lid. All in an effort to keep charge temps down here in the heat of AZ. E85 with fuel system upgrades next. Gotta keep it cool.

Recommend an Air to Air EOC. Worked great for my Twin Turbo setup on my C5 when I switched from a RAD w/integrated EOC, to a different Rad and separate air to air EOC. Kept the two cooling systems separated and they didn't heat each other up so to speak. Not quite as hot as Az, but I did drive in summer time in California with temps in the 100-105* frequently.

I also have a LPE 427 Maggie CTS-V and I took the Air to Air EOC off and noticed a big difference in oil temp over one hour normal driving.

To me the fix GM did was nothing more that expanding the existing cooling system by converting the tranny cooler on the manual to be part of the coolant system.

I've just recently installed DeWitt's Cool Kit on my 16 Z06. It really makes a difference, but mostly on the road course and highway driving. It helps at the drag strip, but not that much. In fact I'm reinstalling my nitrous kit tomorrow to use at the strip. We don't get enough time between rounds to fully cool down. In fact we run round robin...if you win you come right back into the staging lanes. I'm only going to do about a 50hp shot. Just enough to over come the heat soak.

They have packages that you can add to your car one at a time until you reach your cooling goal.

when we developed our HX we tested it on a 100% stock car, I wanted to make a unit that would help even a stock car, because if it would benefit them obviously a pullied car would see a better benefit.

On the stock Z we saw a drop of 14 degree's iat2 just while cruising around. under a wot pull 1st through 5th Iat2 was down 28 degrees and recovered back to it's natural resting temp 72 seconds faster. This test was done in 98 degree outside temps in the same day.

Our unit is 100% drop in w/ zero cutting of any plastics or lines needed.

We do keep these units in stock and can ship one out right away.

Describe your unit, and specifically what it does, and how it does it, in detail please.

it's a heat exchanger upgrade for the oem unit, it is able to pull out more heat from the system by using a denser fin count, increased size to hold more fluid, and a more efficient design overall.

Joe, when you say IAT2, do you mean manifold air temp??? I would be real happy if going through 1-5 gear Wot with 28deg drop and a fast recovery.

The temp of the air after it goes through the intercooler bricks.

What is the IAT2 temp difference after 4 or 5 minutes of hard track driving vs one 10/12 second long short pull?

Joe,

What is involved in making the swap? Is this a do it in the driveway project or do you have to remove the front of the car bodywork?
