Default Exposed Carbon Fiber stinger hood decal

Anyone put one of these on? If so how do you like it, how does it hold up and can you tell that it's not real carbon fiber. I'm thinking about doing this but don't want to ruin the look of my car if it looks cheap. Not considering the real carbon fiber exposed hood because of the cost. They make them in a carbon flash decal also which is what GM uses for one of their stinger options, but if I do it at all it would be exposed carbon fiber to match my roof. For $150 the price sure is right!

I have used this on my last 2 Z06's. I personally think it looks good and majority of people don't notice it's a wrap material, if you look close of course you can tell. I could not justify the cost for the OEM exposed CF and I can pull this off at any time if I want to change it. I did both the hood and roof/halo and it ties together nicely. I have my vinyl guy do the installs, it is a thicker material that wears well and has a glossy finish to it. I have some pics I will try to post later for you.

OK thanks! If you don't like it and remove it, will it mess up the paint?

No it will not hurt the paint, I always heat the vinyl before I remove it. I used a gloss black wrap ony c6 and it seemed like it showed every stretch mark and scratch.

The one i'm thinking about ordering is from Phoenix Graphix and cost $149. Their claim is: Our C7 Z06 or Z07 Stinger Hood Carbon Fiber decal stripe will give you the OEM factory appearance of the exposed carbon fiber hood option. Who made yours and what was the cost?

That is where the graphic came from, same cost. If you are looking for the exact mirror finish of the oem cf you may not like it. It is glossy not matte at all but you will never get a vinyl to have the same shine the real stuff gets..lol. Worst case you are out 150.00 if you don't like it, that was my thought when I ordered it.

Great, you've been a big help. The pictures they show make it look very glossy and an OEM match. But you're telling me not so much. Well I don't want a mismatch with my OEM exposed carbon fiber roof so I guess I'll pass. Thanks again.

Anytime, glad I could help. The weave is spot on with oem which I think is what they were referring to.

You can always do a carbon flash which will look just as good too.

I think that the Carbon Flash decal looks better than the carbon fiber decal, but obviously the exposed carbon fiber looks the best.

I also got mine from Phoenix stripes. For the shine I am going to put xpell on it...I did it to my carbon fiber door sills and it looks great.

The wheels are the cf10's in OEM MPSS tire sizes.

I did CF paint, tried the vinyl CF but didn't have enough gloss to it for me.

My car has the factory insert and it looks just like the pic in the OP's thread.
