Thinking of trading my Z for a Camaro ZL1 1LE

If you think he's trolling you need to seek help. Poorsha asked for advice and you have done nothing but bash a car you haven't driven. That and you have 0 credibility.
Price tag doesn't define a car and it's capabilities anyway. I could go buy a C5 Z06 for $20k, spend $40k on it, come out cheaper than a C7Z, and beat essentially anything at my local tracks. See where I'm going with this? It doesn't matter how much a car costs or what badge it has.
The ZL1 1LE might not be as fast as a C7Z, but who cares? It's about the experience and fun of owning the car. It's sad that you're a Corvette elitist and refuse to appreciate any other car.

So I'm thinking of trading in my 2015 M7 C7 Z06 for a 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE. My rationale is basically that the Z has 2 1/2 years of heavy track use on it and goes out of bumper to bumper warranty at the end of this year. I really want the new C7 ZR1 but I don't see them being released and me getting an allocation prior to the end of CY 2018 or early 2019.
The C7Z has been a great car and I doubt the ZL1 1LE will be faster but I suspect it will be close. the 1LE is ~300 lbs heavier but has better cooling and aero, plus we will see just how good those DSSV shocks are compared to the DSC and Tractive setup I have on my C7Z.
More importantly though, I really enjoyed being one of the first to heavily track the C7Z. To learn what worked, what didn't, and get to share that with the community. The gen 6 ZL1 1LE will be an opportunity to start over on that path again.
Finally, I do have a lot invested in the C7 platform. Four sets of wheels and tires plus a bunch of Corvette specific tools. I'd pull the shocks, controller, and AP Racing brakes before I sell it and I've already confirmed that I can retrofit most of the brakes to the Camaro.
So what are folks thoughts? I'm really on the fence on this but probably need to decide soon. I found a dealer selling at MSRP that has an unsold one on order with a mid-July TPW.

2) Get another Z with all the bells and whistles.
3) Sounds like price is not a problem. Viper ACR or just wait for the ZR1!
It would be hard to go from a Z06 to a ZL1. Also, the ZL1 won't hold its value as much.

C'mon you're not serious are you? Honestly you're just messing around? You have to be. lol!!
If you aren't you have absolutely no idea who you're addressing. Talk about budgets and 84 IROCS make you sound stupid. If that's what you're going for then you're hitting your marks!!

LOL!! I knew it.
Nice car in your sig BTW. Very quick!!!
I do like the Corvette better than the Camaro.
I spoke with Joe Aquilante about them last year and they are just big cars. Not that they aren't quick. They just aren't quite as quick. I wouldn't get one if I were Sean. I understand the "bored" part but I am not sure I would be looking towards the Camaro over his current, well sorted C7Z06.

The F-ing 2018's!
Don't be stupid! No matter what you have nothing to lose by waiting. Even Camaro knows that!
Hey, we still don't know how the Nurburgring stacks up, and how would you feel if there was a slaughter by one if these cars! The answer is terribly deflated, I think!

He actually owns a C7Z. Just because he can appreciate more than one car doesn't mean he drives an 80s Camaro.
Like I said, some of us here appreciate more than one car. It doesn't matter what forum you are on. People can talk about whatever car they want. Why do you keep bringing up cost? Are you justifying your purchase? No one said the C7Z is bad, so why bring that up?
Yup, didn't know asking for advice is trolling now... especially considering how credible Poorsha is and just wants to know what others think.

Were you talking gen 5 or 6? I agree on the gen 5 and have one (a convertible) but now that I've driven a gen 6 on track it's a very different car. Every time I start to settle on keeping my C7 Z I see someone support off about how there's no way a Camaro will catch their Z. It makes me very tempted to buy one just to prove a point.
I think maybe if they find one of the youtube videos of you in your z06 at VIR they'll shut up. I've seen them and been to VIR and you kick butt!

Remember this, A Camaro is not a Corvette... different breeds of cats here, I personally would stay with the Vette but the Camaro is a cool car, either way, your $$$ & your call

The new Camaro may work brilliantly. I am not sure you going around other C7Z's proves much anything though. You could be in anything that works reasonably well and do that.
For me they just don't look as mean or as cool. I just like the C7Z. On top of that I like the way you get around in yours even more than just the way it looks.
