Drag Radials + Run Flats???
#2
I cant be done but I dont think its recommended. Super stiff sidewall in the front and super soft in the rear would lead to some funky handling I would think. I have a set of Nitto Invo's in great shape for sale... just fyi

Don't try it. They'll suck and you'll hate it, especially with the MT 20s.
Others have reported better luck when running a non-ZP up front in combination. I've not tried that yet, but can speak to the spooky handling of the MT 20s with MPSS up front - you don't want it.

I can't speak to the 18s, but I used to have MT ET SS 20s, and now have the NT05R 19s. The MTs hooked better. Too spooky to live with, but they seemed to hook marginally better than the Nittos.
That's relative however - for traction, if the MTs scored a 9, the Nittos are a 7, and the MPSS were a 3.
Likely a softer/different compound I imagine.

I've driven on Nitto NT05R's 345-30-19's on both my 11 GS and both my 2015 & 2016 Z06's with the original run flats on the front without any issues. I currently have Kumho ACR's on the front now with my DR's on and I drive it daily.

I run the Nitto NT05R full time, unless I'm taking a long trip of some kind, then I switch back to MPSS.
Not saying it's the right thing to do, but I ran DR full time on my C6Z and my CL65. Just stay out of the rain!

Mickey Thompson ET >>>> Nittos
If money matters and you're on a 18" rim with only wanting tires for the drag track I'd get the 335 Hoosiers .. I prefer the MT ET on the street with the Nittos behind them by a far margin. I only use DRs on the street on all my vehicles. As stated stay out of down pours and drive safe and you'll be fine.
The stock MPSS suck in the rain as is, so its good practice if moving to a DR.

I have been running M/T Drag Radials in the back 335-25-20 and stock MPSS in the front all summer last year and now this year with no issues. In my opinion M/T DR are the best thing for this car.

Will this setup work? Is it okay to just switch back and forth between drag radials and MPSS for track/street usage without realigning constantly?
Fronts:
Stock front wheel with 285/30ZR/19 Continental Extreme Contact Sports
Rear:
Track: MT ET SS 345/35/18 with 18x12 59mm offset z06 rep wheels AND
Street: Stock wheels with 335/25ZR/20 non run flat MPSS

Just mounted my drag tires. Rear: 345/30zr19 NT05R on replica 19x12 wheels Front: NT05 275/35zr19 on stock wheels. After about 500 miles of street driving I must say I'm impressed. There is no rubbing whatsoever and wow does it hook up now. Traction control light comes on once in a while but I just turn it off for aggressive driving. It rides better than stock Michelin Super Sports but doesn't handle as good, of course. Not bad tho for me I lean towards straight line acceleration for style of driving so these are perfect tires as far as I'm concerned. They don't flip rocks up near as bad as a bonus. We'll have to see how they do at the strip my best time was 12.4 @ 120 with stock tires. I like them a lot so far. Tried running stock tires on front at first it wandered around and was pretty sketchy. Matching the front tires with NT05's resolved this completely.
