Katech is another good one... and there are others: WeaponX, VMAX, etc.

I have been running the Katech TB for about a year as well as the Vitesse TC and just recently replaced the K&N air-filter element with the Terry Burger BMS air-filter element. I highly recommend all three mods especially combined together; obvious seat-of-the-pants improvement with smooth, no lag or fault-er off-idle starts or at speed. Improved gas mileage as well. Car has the A8 and I have never gotten any codes.

I'm running a Tony Mamo ported Throttle body. Nice piece. Improved throttle response and mid and higher rpm acceleration. Also works well with the Borla catless x-pipe. PM or e-mail Tony for a price. I think it was around 300 or so.

Been running a Vmax ported TB on my C6 for about 9 years and have been very pleased. Will do the same on the C7 Z06 when I get it. Great deal too, around $150 (you return your core). www.vmaxmotorsports.com

Or you could do it yourself in a couple hours....you have to take the original off and install the ported one anyway.....unless your hogging out the thing all you have to do is grind the lip off and then polish it out with sandpaper....my car had a very bad off idle stumble and after a minor port job the stumble is gone....no big deal.

Just my butt dyno. It pulls stronger. He takes a stock throttle body and works his magic. Very nice.

Looks like the GM OEM TB is currently unavailable. On backorder at some of the vendors.

I started with a Katech, and switched to a Mamo. The difference is dramatic.
The Katech is now for sale.

I'm sure all the ported TB's are very similar but I chose a Tony Mamo one and am very pleased. Tony's money back guarantee and great customer service make his a no brainer!

It looks like the tony mamo is the most consistent The price is double the price vs a Vmax and heard good results on the vMax also

maybe they all work different on different cars

Default Who's on first? "You" make the call!

Remember with Vmax you have to supply your throttle body, but with 'most' other brands a new throttle body is part of the deal/price.

If you search you will find a throttle body review of Katech which may of had a first generation that was not so good and then a second with very good results per the review.

I may go for a PTB myself and I would suggest looking over the various pics (thoughtfully) in the various threads of late before you make your choice.

I also cast my vote for the Tony Mamo ported TB. Beautiful well thought out work, you keep your stock TB, efficient shipping and phenomenal customer service. Most folks would agree, sometimes you get what you pay for.
