Default cracked wheels

two rear wheels that bought online from a forum vendor have cracked.
wheels are on a 2016 z07
i like to use track mode on streets, and after these incidents i am not doing that anymore.

i was curious to see how much these wheels cost from GM and looked up the part number stamped on the wheel: 23317166
but i cant find this part number on any online part stores.
I also called my dealership and they cant find that part number either.
It is definitely the part number stamped on the wheel, right next to the GM logo.
One theory is that GM made a mistake and that is why that part number doesn't show up in their system.
Another theory i have is that this is not a real GM part. But i dont know how likely that is. What do you think? thanks - Mark

They are cheap for a reason. All I'm going to say because I don't want to hear crying..

Stamping are not always good part numbers, have them looked up by Vin# or application.

The oem Z wheels have been notoriously easy to bend rims particularly in Sport mode.

Cracking is new to me however. Easy to see if they are oem. Just look on the inside at the logo.

You want to use a mode not recommended for use on the street, these are the consequences. Probably doesn't help if these were reproduction wheels. Bent/cracked wheels aren't the only reason to stay away from track mode on the street; Suspension parts will wear much quicker as well, and those MR shocks are NOT cheap to replace.

I had 2 bent and 1 cracked from driving my '11 Carbon on terrible NJ roads and those were factory wheels. Happened in only a couple of months of driving.

OP, you are saying these are genuine GM wheels, right? But you got them from a forum vendor, so they're used or new or takeoffs.

ooh good to know sport mode could be problematic too thank you.
definitely has gm logo stamped, but i dont think that is hard to fake.
the forum vendor swears they are oem.
i looked up the vin and the part number on these wheels is not there. q6u (black) rear wheels for 2016 z06 are a similar but different part number. thanks to all replies, even the condescending ones 😊

That's news to me! I've NEVER heard where Sports mode was an issue for street use, only Track mode. I've been driving in Sports mode for 1+ years and 7500 miles with no issues although I have forged wheels.

Since my Z06's do not come with forged wheels, not even as an option, it forces me to have to get forged wheels aftermarket, for safety and so I don't have to keep replacing bent wheels, it's funny but my cheaper dodge comes standard with forged wheels

thank you. i did a search on this part number and the ones that came back were very inexpensive, so i thought that might be evidence that they were replicas. But this link shows a high price, which is a bit more promising.

I guess my main question now is a general GM part number question. Does GM keep all part numbers in their database for a long time? Since this part number is not found by my dealer, and someone told me that GM keeps part numbers in there for at least 7 years (the info from this person cant necessarily be relied upon), then that means either this is a data entry / retrieval issue, or the part number is fake. Dont know if anyone knows about GM and part numbers.. prly not, but thank you anyway

Our Signature Forged monoblock wheels are very reasonable replacement for cheap stock wheels.
