Best way to learn the art of "smooth" is rain driving, great job! I've never done it with Cups but I bet you were, no that's some guts buddy.
Did you send your form in to Hal for NYS Safety track?
Talk soon....

All set for NY Safety Track. Driving in the rain on the cup 2's in wet mode wasn't that bad. You're right as it the best way to practice smooth lines and smooth braking and acceleration. Definitely helped as I had my personal best at WGI the next day. Looking forward to the track alignment and trying to keep up with you at the NYS safety track!!

Cool! Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get back to WGI. My event was cut short due to having the wrong replacement rear pads. Went to swap them the beginning of Day 2 (3 day event) and found out. Lesson learned...

Its a fun technical track that has little time to relax. A few of the turns are descending and negative camber fun for bikes maybe but havoc for a big heavy high HP car trying to be smooth.

Take some slow laps to learn the track and gradually work your way up to speed. Many different types of turns. As Mad Dog said let off the gas on wheelie hill because if you don't your going to get real loose!!
Enjoy the track. It's a lot of fun.

I want to thank the two of you again, I had a blast!!
My instructor, who rode with me for every session but one, was awesome and taught me a lot. As I was leaving he stopped me and asked if he could drive a couple of laps which was incredible!!
Here is a link to my best lap of the day, lots of room for improvement but I learned so much and was able to drive the car home.

Or September... They have a Friday track day with the same group I was there with this time. I have already taken the day off just in case...
And so it begins...
And thank you for the kind words.

I am heading out to High Plains raceway in Denver at the end of September for three track days. I went last year and it was fun. Similar size to NY Safety track.
