Color shift wrap
I picked up a black C7.R recently. I'm a big fan of wraps and promptly wrapped the Vette. Below are some pics. The vinyl is Avery's Satin Roaring Thunder. I included yellow accents on the ground effects to go with the yellow calipers and yellow wheel pinstripes that comes on the C7.R. I removed the Jake Skull decal and the grey hood and roof stripes because I prefer a cleaner look. I left a number of accents black, grey or carbon fiber, including the mirrors, top of the roof, ground effects, and hood insert.
I'm fully expecting some of you to love it, most of you to hate it, and nearly all of you to castigate me for not dropping it on the stock bolts, yet.

After looking at it for a while, it's growing on me. I will have to admit, at first glance my mind flashed to this:

I had that paint on my bike before, DuPont chromallusion. I looked good on the bike because of the curves. Have seen it on cars before but it never looked good, or appealed to me.
Didn't know they made it in a wrap. Going to have to check it out.
Looks great on your car. Plenty of prismatic effect.

I appreciate the generally positive feedback. I haven't seen Black Rose in person, but from the pics it looks beautiful. And I agree that my wrap looks similar to it in certain angles and light.
Chameleon paints were a moderate trend some years ago, though the high cost kept it from going truly mainstream, at least in my opinion. Plus, a lot of them shifted across to many colors. I think color shifts looks better when they shift across only several colors. That's the case with the color shifting wraps from Avery, 3M and others. Plus, I think the manufacturers finally go over some technological hurdles to incorporating color shifts into vinyl.

I have a 98 Pace Car and thought it wasn't far off myself. Still not sure on the yellow with that wrap even as an owner of a pace car.... With that said, the color is AWESOME. I think if it were me I'd wrap the yellow out of it, but I'm not sure.

Dig the wrap, hate the yellow accents. And yes, DROP that thing!

First off, I got rid of the yellow accents ages ago when I got new wheels. Here's the link to that thread, in case you care. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rged-pf5s.html
Regarding maintenance, I've been using a waterless wash for the entire time I've owned the car. But you can wash the care like you would the paint. You just don't need to--and shouldn't--wax or polish it. And no drive-thru care washes because the bristles might catch the wrap corners and peel it.

I had mine ceramic coated with CeramicPRO, two coats. Did this due to the texture of the vinyl. The fine lines would be more of a challenge to keep clean. Now just use quick detailer and a good micro-fiber towel to wipe it down. Nothing sticks. 4 hour drive and the bugs wipe off with ease. Like he said, NO car washes with brushes, touchless are fine. If you use a power washer at home keep the psi to less than 1000, again to prevent the edges from lifting.
