Maybe this will shoo out some of the trolls.

Well, well, well...how about that. For those who cling to 'Ring times and have been flapping that the C7Z couldn't finish a lap, or wouldn't be faster than the C6 ZR1, this is a nice slice of humble pie. Those trolls know who they are and it's unlikely they'll have much to say in this thread.
And we know what the OEM's do to get lap times. They put a serious driver in the car and make sure everything is perfect...from tires to alignment. Dodge had a Kumhos trailer at 13-tracks for Winkler (and we still can't figure out how he hit 126 mph in T12 at Road Atlanta). And that ZL1 1LE video is a great example for what GM's effort would be.

To the haters and trolls who bashed the C7 Z with psychotic obsession for the past 2+ years, suck on that one. What other car for this money can do that?

Impossible. Every Z06 overheats according to this forum...

Really nice to see video, even if not official.

I love my car, it makes a great track weapon! If it were a few hundred pounds lighter, it would be a true beast of a car!

That's cool but this is gonna get ugly.

stinks that no matter what someone will make excuses about who did thahe test how it was handled etc etc. Same people that swore it could run for 7 minutes without overheating which I've never read a post claiming they've done it in less time even the A8 lol..

another thing it's amazing that it's 3 seconds quicker than the 1LE which was 13 seconds quicker than the ZL1. Man that's fast. Can't wait to see those two go at it on the courses here in hands of skilled drivers. Going to be brand on brand crime all over the tube.

GM's time was said to be 00:07:10 (+/-).......I think I blogged it before.

My favorite is the Z28 run in the wet.

Wow not even GM drivers. Guy driving made a couple mistakes, seem he was having a hard time getting into some of the gears? I have no doubt GM, if they do will break 7:10. Thanks for posting. Only a matter of time now before the haters roll in.

GM Factory drivers should be able to extract even more time as it's clear the gear shifts weren't executed perfectly.

Sport Auto's best time with new GT3 was 7:18 v Factory time of 7:12. Can you imagine what the GM Factory time would be for the Z06? 7:08 - 7:10 perhaps?

Without having to dig through Google didn't somebody say the C6 ZO6 and ZR1 times were released at the same time? Maybe that's what they're going to do here?

I just checked the times, GM first attempt with the ZR1 on the factory tires were 7:26, while sport auto with the same tires did 7:38. If that's the kind of delta we see between factory drivers and sport auto, then....

Yes, however those were all Factory times. Sport Auto is a German Auto Mag. Their posted times are usually a few seconds higher than Factory tests. Hopefully the official GM time should help shave off even more seconds for the true time.

Amazing, even with the driver errors. We have one bad beast! Even before mods, very impressive.

Indeed, this is before a Ported Throttle Body, Xpipe or DSC.
