Default Auto Dimming Mirrors

It seems my auto dimming mirrors are much too dark for me especially during twilight drives. Have tried to find solution in manual and on this forum but so far no advice on how to adjust or even disable the dimming feature. The manual lists fuse #26 for inside rear view mirror. Hopefully some of you may know if pulling this fuse will solve my problem or just disable Onstar. Thought I would ask first before I start experimenting

I can't offer help, but can say I've had times when my mirror went completely dark but it was still daylight out. It seems to happen more often if the top is out. I also have tinted windows which I am guessing does not help the sensor.

It'll take you 20 seconds to pull the fuse and see.

Fuse #26 disables auto dimming and On Star on the mirror and that's all. No codes, all power functions still work, my wire tap for my V1 still works. So glad to have the auto dimming turned off and those stupid red and blue on Star lights off. Absolutely dumbest idea ever to have auto dimming you can't turn off and red and blue lights on the mirror!!

Thanks I'll give it a try. I learned a long time ago in ham radio that sometimes a seemingly simple solution, involving electronics, can have unexpected outcomes. Asking a question is a lot safer.

Well darn. I haven't tried it yet as I haven't driven Z since the post but you would think the fuse would work. Guess we will just have to live with it.

at least you can disconnect the mirror on the driver side.
here are the instructions for disassembling the rearview mirror where its connected to

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-2015-c7.html

On the cableconnector you have to push the white tab down and disconnect the cable on pin 10

Thanks for the info, but it looks a little too tedious for me. My luck I would probably screw something up.
