Demon vs Z06 1/4 Mile
#42
What in the world are you talking about?
Same day, same track a Demon is going to be substantially quicker and faster than a stock Z06. Even if you put DR's on the Z06. Although it was in great air, the car ran over 140 mph, which is ~6 mph faster than w.farmer's incredible run in huge negative DA air at MIR and about 10 mph faster than most of the stock Z06's on the Fast List.
I'm not sure where this ridiculous notion that the car's straightline performance is a "disappointment", but it's a pretty laughable statement.

The Demon's will be will not be too mean without the 1.3 60ft.
The Demon's ultra quick 60ft is the whole race. The 60 ft is the key in the 1/4 mile. Poor 60 ft poor 1/4 mile time and slower trap speed.
Dodge pulled out all the 60 ft tricks with trans brake and boosted launch and weigh transfer the rear tires. They will only go fast with everything right. Track prep weather etc.
They still weigh 4200 and they look big and bulky.
I'll stay with Corvette. The Z06 and the Lt4 with a few easy mods will be too much for the Demon on highway pulls.

There will definitely be some unhappy individuals if their expectations are to blast out 9 sec passes out the box as advertised. It's going to be a sweet car though in regards to street/strip drags. I love what Dodge has done, only wish they would have included an option for a cage. If they're having a crate and stripping the entire cars interior why not have an available cage?
Just watch some YouTube videos and you will see them saying the best they could get is a high ten with slicks and skinnies and line lock. This is a track that is 45 minutes from me. Food for thought I know someone who has run a bone stock c7 ZO6 high tens at same track on stock tires. Like I said people into the quarter thing will be dissapointed when they take their to know it's not even close to a nine second machine

p.s. Yeah the pro C7Z trolling in this thread is painful to watch. Demon is going to stomp the Z as long as they're going straight no matter where they are or where they're starting from.

What are you basing this on? We have seen several times where a stock Hellcat pulls a stock Z06. Why would a Demon not do much better? I for one think the Demon is an ugly piece of FCA crap that's a one trick pony that you can't even use in most places that ponies run. That being said in a straight line a car that does ~140mph in the quarter is going to dominate a car that does ~130 in the quarter. Given equal drivers, it will dominate it on the strip and street.

Drag racers chase negative DA and great track prep. My CTS-V was supposed to run 12.8's. With negative DA, drag radials and CAI it ran 11.50. Some will run 11's with a Demon, some will run 9's. My guess is those that run 11's will blame the car. We've all met those guys at the track.
