Default Looking for Spark Plug Gurus, Question...

Morning Guys,

For those that have thrown on a upper or lower pulley, along with a few other bolt ons, making another 120 HP or so, did you swap plugs??

If so, what did you go with??

I'm currently still running the stock plugs, car runs fine, just curious what others are doing with plugs??

Thanks in advance!!

Not a guru, but I would do what you are doing and see what others are using. I would definitely drop down one or two heat ranges and use iridium. Then make a wot blast and read the plug. That is the best test to verify the timing mark and heat mark for your combo. I used that method on my other street car below while tuning it and it has worked great for 8 years.

Sorry, I don't. I would call Vengeance and order what they recommend. If it were an LSX at your cylinder pressure, I'd be looking at a TR7ix which should be a LTR7-ix heat range for you. Best to buy from experience then test/read to verify.

Thanks for the lead, called Vengeance today, and spoke to David, he did recommend the NGK LTR7IX plugs, as well as their 180 Stat swap out, ordered both, and they shipped today!!

Yes, as I thought, leave them alone out of the box...

Very very high cylinder pressure, I have dropped them to 0.030". But they are tricky to gap without harming the plug. You'll be fine at your cylinder pressure and the stock gap of 0.043".

Thanks Bud, I'll double check the gap out of the box, if it is that high, I'll drop them back a bit...

Yes, you have to be VERY careful with these plugs.
